wheelchair...

Best wishes

Hi, was wondering if any of you that aren't walking anymore continue to dream

about walking? i keep dreaming it as if my brain really hasn't caught up with

reality yet (has only been 2 1/2 years since no walkies). i can be laying there

awake even and be making plans for taking a jog the next day with the

dogs...once in twilite nearly went head first cause i was going to run into

kitchen real fast to get a bite to eat. i saw my chair and brain processed it

fast so i didn't, but that was scary. my dreams for a while included a chair,

and now i am back to walking. i cannot see the movement of walking, as i no

longer can conjure up that memory, but there is not a chair. sometimes these

dreams turn into nite mares cause i am somewhere and suddenly realize i cannot

find my chair nor get to it.

just wondering.....wishing my brain would assimilate reality faster and stop

going backward on me at nite!!!

I too can fly, levitate and hover. Haven't done that in

quite a while though. I have discovered that I can jump off

a tall cliff and land gently - on foot, in a car or on a

bicycle. Now that's neat. It begins with a startling thought

of " Oh S---! " , but then I think, " This is no big deal; I've

done it before. That's when it becomes neat. "

When I'm driving somewhere, the road always changes into

deep gullies, forest trails or open fields. Even when I'm

driving in familiar territory, the roads suddenly change so

that all of a sudden I don't know where I am.

I'm usually still working, but I never seem to accomplish

anything. Sometimes I'm still at the University taking an

exam and the words on the exam paper keep changing. In fact,

I'm seldom able to read anything because of the words

changing.

When I'm in a building, the method of getting from A to B

involves crawling through tight openings, climbing pipes,

walking down hallways that suddenly turn into conveyer belts

and there's such a jam of people behind me that I can't back

up.

When I was a young man, I would dream of infinity. I would

be out in the universe somewhere; there would be no up or

down and everything around me would be moving in an

increasingly large spiral with me at the center.

I could go on and on about dreams. Has anyone had continuous

dreams like old serials in movies before the main feature. I

have dreamed several nights in a row and each dream begins

where last night's dream ended.

Neal says I'm just weird. She never can remember her dreams

and I seldom forget mine.

I fly in my dreams too. I'm somewhat of a realist in my dreams I guess,

because I also dream of flying hazards. Stuff like utility wires and

poles, towers, trees, tall buildings, sudden downdrafts, stuff like that.

They never really hurt me, although it does make for some interesting and

exciting flights. I have no problem whatsoever with my walking or speech

in my dreams, and it's been awhile since I could do those when awake.

Maybe I should just sleep more.

Yes....i have both kinds of dreams. But now a new dimension has been

added: I can FLY.....yup. Recently I find myself flying over

things....in fact....i can 'lucid dream'....I can 'think' about

flying and I start to. It is like I have a 'joystick' control in my

hand and I can manouver and everything!

On the other hand, my frustrations come out in my dreams too.....in

those dreams, I can't walk and everyone is rushing really fast and I

feel left behind.....

Also, I have dreams where I can run and jump and walk normally. I

think our dreams are more related to what emotions or things from

daily life we are dealing with. I have noticed my dreams have gotten

much more detailed and clear.

Vaughn...you are NOT weird...I fly, levitate and float too. It is a

wonderful feeling....I feel so free.!! I often am flying with a

control stick in my hand so i can manouver really well.

When it first started happening i was scared I would fall. But it

never happens. I use my 'thoughts' to control it.

Those of you who have never flown in your dreams should try

it....you CAN learn to tell yourself things in your dreams.....so if

you are trapped or feeling held back...tell yourself you can

fly.....no...I'm not crazy....it really works!

i am guessing i am hovering rather than walking since i don't sense that walking

feeling. i tend to be working as well and there will be a series of clients i

used to see and things will be as they were until suddenly i cannot find my

chair and end up in a panic. i am aware of how to control self in dreams, but

these ones are a challenge for me....i am used to dreaming in reality based

settings so when i am not, i guess it is distressing for me.

you guys don't seem so distressed, which i guess is hopeful for me, right?

Well you guys that dream of flying I actually flew today. My husbands Uncle

here in No Carolina has a plane. Now I don't know my planes but it has two

engines under each wing . He took us up over the mountains here in the

Highlands (town) . I loved it and want to do it again and

again............Don't

care for those air pockets tho. The weather here is delightful

around 72 degrees but cools off at night. I just looked at my e-mails 156

in just three days so I'm slowly reading them, trying to catch up.

I see we have a New Comer, welcome to the group. These are a great group

of people as you will soon find out and know more about PLS then most doctors

do.
