Guest guest
Hi My name is Dawn and I was just recently told I had a fibroid on the inside of my uterus, on the right, in the lining. As you can tell I don't know a whole lot about this. I've had two ultra sounds both within one month, very heavy bleeding and huge clots with the last period. My Dr's and his receptionist told me that I am over reacting, I don't think it's abnormal to be a little alarmed? Do you? I was also told by my Dr's receptionist that the fibroid in the second ultra sound has grown a bit larger since the first one?? But, it's not a tumor, just a fatty mass she said? Should I get a second opinion or ask to be sent to a gyn? Need some advice, only 31 and a little scared. Thanks, Dawn Ontario, Canada
Guest guest
Hi Dawn, You must go to a GYN. And do not ever go back to a doctor who tells you that you are overreacting! I recently discovered that I have a fibroid the size of a grapefruit embedded in my Uterus (intramural). I am currently searching for alternatives to surgery. Let me know if you need to chat anytime! --- Dawn chevs10hottie@...> wrote: > Hi > My name is Dawn and I was just recently told I had a > fibroid on the inside of my uterus, on the right, in > the lining. Guest guest
Hello Dawn,NO I don't think it's wrong to be a bit worried I am too.Yes fibroids can grow rapidly from what I have read. The fatty mass you speak of I not sure about that.Yes ask to be sent to gyno is your best bet and if your not comfortable with the first gyno form of treatment then yes ask for a second. At this point I don't know a whole lot about mine. All i know is I have a fibroid in my lower uterus quandrant,I had 1 utrasound done and that is when they found the fibroid. They say it is small but sure is causing me enuff trouble.I have been doing alot of research on this and it may be more than fibroids for me.I had a D&C,overian cyst removed and had a upper& lower GI done in my mid 20ies.This is not life threaning but could or is causing you some problems,it is normal to be bothered by something that is your body that isn't suppose to be there.I totally understans your concern.I suggest you do some research on treatments for the fibroid if it needs treatment.Good luck to ya and I hope I have helped you Dawn chevs10hottie@...> wrote: Hi My name is Dawn and I was just recently told I had a fibroid on the inside of my uterus, on the right, in the lining. Guest guest
Hi Dawn You should definitely get a referral to a gyno - any doctor that tells you you're over reacting is unprofessional in my opinion! You are 31 & want to have kids so you must deal with your situation - there are lots of options but you need to find a doctor who will take your situation seriously. Don't panic - fibroids are not cancerous tumours & do cause heavy bleeding w/clots so you're not crazy at all. Get a referral & maybe a new doctor also!! Where in Ontario do you live? I am originally from Toronto but live in Vancouver now but if you live in Toronto, I could probably get you the name of a gyno that deals with fibroids for your doctor to refer you to. Let me know. Guest guest
Hi Dawn, When I first found out that I had a fibroid (which I had never heard of) the dr. said " just call me when you want it out. " I guess they see these all the time and its not a big deal to them. But it is to us who have them. This should be the start of fibrods 101 for you, my suggestion is read as much as you can on them. And don't be alarmed ,if you go to more than one dr. you will get more than one opinion (about your options of what to do with it). Good luck I am 29 and in the same boat as you.
