Guest guest
get tight ankles, calves, thighs, back and painful feet, but not in the heel. Sorry. But hot soaks on my sore feet and tight legs feels great. Have you tried that? And maybe some Advil? Good Luck! Guest guest
thanks cathy yeah tried naprosyn doesn't help. thankfully i don't experience this all the time. it's weird. but oh well. i did mention this to a rheum a couple years ago, but with my silly brain i can't remember what he said. LOL. its like the heel tightens up, shrinks, shortens, then when get up to walk it can't or won't stretch back out. will last few hours, or maybe few days, then goes away until next episode. best wishes to you marfla Be Blessed Re: Re: Heel Pain? get tight ankles, calves, thighs, back and painful feet, but not in the heel. Guest guest
yuck! Well, naprosyn is naproxen, where advil is motrin, aka ibuprofen. But maybe it wouldn't work for you either. Naproxen has never done anything for me. Are you on muscle relaxers? My Doc has me doing stretches to stretch the achilles tendon, would that help at all? I hope you feel better!!!!! Pain Sucks!!!!!! Bless you, TOO! Guest guest
Sorry so late in replying. I have a friend with heel pain sounding very much like yours and she has plantar fasciitis, which is inflammation of some muscle in your foot. This is totally unrelated to PLS. Have you seen your primary care dr. for this? Hope you feel better soon! Guest guest
My heel pain only comes when there is pressure on the backs of my heels, primarily when I'm laying down. I bought 2 Heelifts and where them when I'm in bed, and no pain. Surprisingly very comfortable. Medicare paid 80% of cost. SGV Medical Heelifts http://spoilingaunty.tripod.com/id17.html Designed to Eliminate Heel Pressure for Heel Ulcer Prevention and Treatment. Made from soft, firm, medical grade foam with a convoluted design, Original Heelift effectively removes pressure from the heel, preventing heel ulcers, pressure ulcers and diabetic foot ulcers from forming. Guest guest
sorry that you have such heel pain esp just from laying down. glad you found something though that helps. my heel pain seems more in the achilles tendon, like it shrinks or something esp after sitting a while. or after walking a bit maybe its like pulling shorter. thankfully this is episodic so I don't experience it constantly. just now and then. wishing you the best, and less to no pain gentle hugs marfla Be Blessed RE: Re: Heel Pain? > My heel pain only comes when there is pressure on the backs of my heels, > primarily when I'm laying down. Guest guest
Hi! First time for me to respond. I am not sure if this is what you have been discussing. I was diagnosed with PLS in November. I have not asked my neurologist about this, but I began having left heel pain a few weeks ago. I looked it up in my medical books and on the internet and it sounds like plantar fascilitis, not sure about the spelling. Anyway, it does hurt when walking after being in bed or sitting for awhile. The internet article recommended using added arch supports in my shoes plus stretching and flexing my feet before getting up. This has helped me. It also mentioned special splints to put on your feet at night. Is there any connection between this and PLS? Sincerely, le > > > > > > > > Anyone experience major heel pain esp like after you have been > > > sitting > > > > a while, then when stand up to walk heel pain is too much to walk? > > > > > > > > Or after walking a bit, heel pain begins to point too painful to > > walk? > > > > > > > > The pain in only in the heel not ankle, not foot, just heel. > > > > > > > > thanks > > > > > > > > marfla > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >

Guest guest
I am not sure how to can tell which it is but plantar and Achilles tendonitis sound similar: Except seems plantar effect heel and bottom of foot. where as Achilles is more just the heel area. both seem to happen after prolong sitting, and taking those first few steps, or first steps in the morning. for me its just the heel not so much bottom of foot. although I do at times experience like the bottom of foot is bruised, something different than this heel pain at first few steps. http://www.foot.com/info/cond_achilles_tendonitis.jsp http://www.foot.com/info/cond_plantar_fasciitis.jsp hope yours doesn't bother you too much no matter which it is. as its definitely no fun either way.
