Guest guest
Hi Jan, Can you be a little clearer on what you are saying? I'm scheduled to see Dr. West on June 3rd I have only heard great things about him and I was feeling pretty confident about going to see him, but now ............ Should I be concerned???? Re:UAE or myo Whoa.. wait up, ne have you consulted with Dr.West? I have. >> You should also know when considering Dr. West, that myo's are the >>only surgery he performs. I think perhaps your mistaking- the myomectomy that turns into a hysterectomy during the initial surgical procedure with the rarer uh- oh " myomectomy gone wrong " and then a hysterectomy was needed later on or ASAP. DR. West has performed the hysterectomy on a myomectomy patient. This is public record. It's Dr. Wests job to care for his patients...poked bladders to unforseen bad paps the man is as responible for his patients health as your local gyno. Guest guest
Hi to everyone debating embolization or myo. I saw two IR's in Florida about having a UAE. The first told me I should definitely have it and would get great results. The second was much more experienced and told me that five years ago, he would definitely have recommended a UAE, but after his experiences, he realizes that for woman with large fibroids, there are certainly significant risks of failure or complications. He said he would have done a UAE, but made clear his reservations. If my fibroids were smaller, I probably would have had the UAE, but because of his comments and the vascularity of my fibroids, I opted not to pursue the UAE. You should also know when considering Dr. West, that myo's are the only surgery he performs. As far as I know, he has never had a myomectomy turn into a hysto. Best of luck to all. ne

Guest guest
< > Jan, I am considering Dr. West for surgery. What do you mean by " matter of public record " ? Is there a " public record " source I can go to access information regarding Dr. West, aside from verifying license and certification for practice? Guest guest
Hi, just visit the nys dept of health web site and investigate for yourself. Make your own choice and be happy with knowing all you can. I heard great things too..not saying he's a bad surgeon just don't think he's as valuable to women as he does. So enough of my experience. I spent many hours and thousands of dollars to find my myo surgeon after reading about carla and other womens experiences. I'm not sharing info to scare anyone from a doc but this guy's expensive and I was able to find a specialist doc with no sanctions to do the same surgery in a better hospital and my insurance covered it. I was an extra tricky surgery. Best wishes JanG > Hi Jan, > > Can you be a little clearer on what you are saying? > I'm scheduled to see Dr. West on June 3rd > I have only heard great things about him and I was feeling pretty confident about going to see him, but now ............ > Should I be concerned????
