Guest guest
I've been thinking about the MeetUp as well and I've just now been in touch with the Seattle Planned Parenthood and the University of Washington Women's Center about it. The Women's Center is willing to post a sign about the even to their bulletin board. I challenge you other ladies to do the same -- and make suggestions for other places you think we can post signs I'm thinking of a community health clinic, a couple coffee shops and a small grocery in my neighborhood. I would be happy to help set up a flyer in MS Word that listmembers can update with their city names. Carla, is NUFF considered a sponsor of the events? Can I include info about NUFF on the flyer? --Ann Seattle, WA
Guest guest
> Carla, is NUFF considered a sponsor of the events? Can I include info > about NUFF on the flyer? NUFF isn't technically a " sponsor " of these events. There is currently no way to oversee or be accountable for what is shared across so many informal meetups all over the world. There are fairly detailed terms to signing up for the meetup system that explains the legal liabilities involved and the restrictions over any single organization truly taking " ownership " of the meetups. We would have to pay fees and work much more closely with the MEETUP folks to tighten things up to the degree of being able to state we are truly the " sponsors " for these meetings. That said, there is no reason whatsoever that you couldn't place " For more fibroid information, see: and list several resources here on the brochure Also, you can generally place meeting announcements for free in local freebie independent newspapers. These typically need to go into the paper by Thursday or Friday of the week BEFORE it's to actually appear in print. So, making that placement in time for this month's meetings on the 21st would probably have to occur by tomorrow. We have created a 2x3 MEETUP ad that is simply the nametag with the website on it which can also be used for paid ads. Let me know if you want this graphic file -- the graphic files offered on the MEETUP site are not high quality and actually print a bit blurry. It will take time to build on these meetings to gather enough interest from locals to have them in as many cities as we'd like to see. But, please do encourage registration and take heart/hope that it will happen, in time. Anyone who identifies herself as a " host " of any given meeting is welcome to contact me for brochures or other printed materials for distribution/discussion at their meeting. I would definitely like to get posters/flyers out in my area. I can think of LOTS of places I could possibly place them. Hope you'll let me know when you have a flyer/poster ready. It seems like it will be difficult to list dates/locations on flyers/posters since we won't know if a date is a go, or what the meetups location is, until a few days before each meeting. So, I hope that you'll include the info on how to sign up at the meetups website. Also, thanks so much for getting the photos of us in S.F. up on this list-group's site. – We didn't get YOU in any of those photos – when there's a Seattle meetup, you'll have to be sure to include yourself in the photos ! And, if you include a list of suggested resources – per Carla's message – why not include information about joining this list- group?? Guest guest
I signed up for a meetup here in Seattle. Will I be notified where exactly this meetup will be? Thanks cathy
Guest guest
> I signed up for a meetup here in Seattle. Will I be notified where exactly > this meetup will be? > Thanks > cathy If at least 5 people sign up in your area for a Meetup, you will receive an email telling you the location of the meeting per the votes received. If less than 5 people sign up, you will receive an email indicating it has been cancelled and suggesting you look for other meetings to join in on in your near state/area. This process repeats itself each month so even if not enough people sign up this month to hold a meeting in your area, there is continued opportunity for the numbers of members to increase with time and future meetings to be scheduled/held.
