Kimber,

I'm so sorry for this devastating news. I'm just so sorry.

I can understand your uncertainty regarding what to do next. I hope

you and your husband can find a choice that brings you the least

anguish. We had to make a choice (d&c vs. indefinite wait) with my m/c

and the choice became very simple after a couple days of waiting. Your

situation is very different, but I hope that the best option becomes

clear to you.

I'm so sorry. I will be praying for you as you grieve.

Love,

Kimber,

Oh, I am so, so sorry. I don't know

what else to say except I'm sorry and

you will get through this.

You are in my prayers for a successful

pregnancy. Take good care of yourself

right now.

Sending a very big hug your way,

M/C pending and update

Hi Ladies,

I am heartbroken - I went for first sono today at 7 weeks and there

was just an empty sac. They said it was the size of 5.5 weeks, not

7, and there was nothing visible in it.

The doctor said now we just wait for the miscarriage to happen. He

said there is a VERY SLIGHT chance that the pregnancy is really just

5.5 weeks along, but I really don't think that's possible, and even

so, I think we might have seen SOMETHING in the sac.

They offered to let me stay on progesterone for another week and a

half and do another scan, just in case. I'm not sure what to do on

that - I don't really believe the pregnancy is really just 5.5 weeks

along, and I'd rather just get it over with, but I don't know if I

feel right stopping the progesterone - the only bad thing is that it

delays the miscarriage from happening. I don't know. (*sigh*)

We have been ttc about 1.5 years now, and I'm 35. I am getting my

thyroid worked on now, so maybe it won't take us another 1.5 years,

I don't know. People with thyroid problems do have a larger chance

of miscarriage. My doctor confirmed that today.

Thanks for listening. I came back to work today because I don't

know what else to do with myself.

Kimber,

I am so sorry for your news. I know how you feel. When I found out that I

was pregnant (8/2005) @ my 5 week check up they also discovered I had a S/U.

At the time my doctor was much more concerned about the shape of my uterus

than the baby, and that had me concerned. She kept telling me that we

should just wait it out. We waited about 2 1/2 weeks to see if it would

develop but it never did. Plus they were concerned that I might have an

entopic as well. Once my levels started to drop they did a laminara (SP?)

hopping that I would m/c on my own but I didn’t. So I went in for my D&C.

Even though I never got to hear the heartbeat, it was still hard for me.

Knowing what could have been. My doctor kept telling me that it was a good

thing because now they would be able to fix the SU. But it didn’t hurt my

heart less. Just take it easy and one step at a time. If you can wait

the 1 ½ weeks do, that way you know you have done everything you can. If

you can’t then don’t. Do what is best for you!! That is the most important!

FYI - It has been almost 6 months and I finally finished all of my surgeries

:) (1 laparoscopy, 2 hysteroscopies & 1 balloon catheter). We will start

trying again in march :)

Best of luck,

Nickey

Kimber,

I'm so, so sorry. I've had 2 m/c myself and know how extremely

difficult this is. I understand your feelings of wanting to get

things over with quickly...I opted for a d&c both times just because I

couldn't handle the waiting. Could they run bloodwork for you at 48

hour intervals to see if your hcg is dropping? That might help you to

make a more solid decision on the progesterone issue. That would

definitely be a reasonable request.

You'll be in my thoughts. Let us know how you are doing...

Take care,

UU, 31

Hi Kimber,

I'm so sorry about your news. It's just not fair. I agree about the

48hr blood tests. In June I started spotting at about 7 weeks and an

u/s showed the same thing yours did - 5 week empty sac. My dr. sent

me for the blood tests and the first showed levels for less weeks than

I should have been. The second showed levels were rising too slowly

for the pregnancy to be viable. I did not have a d&c since I was

already spotting. I spotted for about a 1.5 weeks before the " full

m/c " happened. The bleeding was not as scary as I though it would be

(I lost my baby b/c he was 18 weeks preterm in February and did need a

d&c a month after that b/c I was having horrific bleeding due to not

all the placental tissue having come out).

I'm thinking of you. Please get some rest,

Becky

Hi Kimber,

I'm so sorry for you. I went through something similar last summer

but I got my bad news at 11 weeks after I had seen a heartbeat at 8

weeks (but the baby only measured 6 weeks at that time). I waited

three weeks for the m/c (the dr. had predicted that my hormones needed

to go down to almost zero before the m/c would start and that is

exactly how it happened). For the first week of that wait, the doctor

wouldn't really tell me what was going on. I actually still had my

fingers crossed that the dr. was wrong. That was the most painful

part.

I suggest you get some blookwork done so you can find out your hormone

levels and whether or not they are doubling. Keep taking your

progesterone in the meantime.

I'm so sorry you have to go through this.

Kimber,

I'm so sorry that you are going through such a painful experience.

Maybe it helps just a little to know that you are not alone. Take

good care of yourself. It's easy to sink into depression right now

even before you realize it's happening. I hope you have lots of

supportive freinds and family. I'll be sending you healing thoughts.
