knivi16,

Hi I am new, but had to respond to your email.

I just went through a week of a pain in my inner right leg around the thigh

area. I thought that I had pulled a muscle from doing dead lifts in the gym, so

I went to my family doctor and he said that he did not think that it was , from

exercising, so I asked about my fibroid. He said that he did not think that it

was from the fibroid, either, because they are positioned in the front more so

than the back. He continued to say, if the fibroid are positioned more in the

back area, you could have pain in the back, and it may travel to the leg. He

suggested a MRI, or, maybe I should go to the GYNO first to check it out.

I took one 250mg amoxillicin tablet, and it went away and never came back, but I

honestly feel it may have been caused by the fibroid!

Help! Has anyone experience weakness in their legs due to their

fibroids? I am 13 weeks post c-section and have multiple large

fibroids. I was on bed rest for 5-1/2 months. I am experiencing

pain in my legs and overall weakness where it feels that I have run

a marathon yet I will only walk down the street or to my car. I am

undergoing tests now to rule out anything else but I really think it

has something to do with the fibroids. I had asked my previous

doctor a while back about pain I had in one leg and she said that

the fibroids could be pressing on a nerve that would cause the pain

in my leg. But the pain and weakness I have now is in both legs so

I'm not sure if it would be possible that it is the fibroid causing

it. If anyone has experienced this problem, I'd be interested to

hear about it. The doc said it could be that my body is still

recovering from the bed rest since I probably lost body mass not

doing anything for so long but he isn't sure. But I just don't feel

like it's getting any better as time is going on. Thanks!

Gee, I don't mean to alarm you.... but the motor/sensory leg symptoms you are

experiencing could be something completely UNrelated to your fibroids.

Needless to say, however, the fibroids could be aggravating those symptoms.

(As we all know, fibroids seem to make EVERYTHING worse!!!)

But the degree of weakness and BILATERAL pain you've been experiencing needs

to be investigated.

I'm sure it's normal to be somewhat " deconditioned " after five months of bed

rest. However, I would think at this point, you would NOT be feeling like

you'd " run a marathon " after a simple walk to your car.

I don't know what tests you've already undergone, but having had bilateral

leg weakness and pain myself-- during my fibroidal years....( and a very rare

NON-fibroidal diagnosis) I do know some of the tests that SHOULD be ordered.

If your symptoms persist, I really think you should be seen by a neurologist

for a full evaluation (including an EMG and NCV--testing that can only be done

by a neurologist--to determine degree of weakness in the muscles, whether the

problem is muscular or nerve-related, AND the origin of the problem).

Good luck, and keep us posted!!!
