Guest guest
Hello, So glad to hear that your hysteroscopic resection was successful, (We all love to hear positive stories) If you don't mind I'll like to ask a question, I read on your post about the watery discharge, I have fibroids, the largest one measured (MRI and ultrasound done in Feb.) 12cm, anyway, my symptoms are also heavy periods, however, not has heavy has you have described yours to be. Mine last approx. 7 - 8 days with day 3 and 4 being the heaviest, about 4 or max. 5 super pads a day, I have no pain at all, I never experienced frequent urination (with the exception of a few days during my period) swollen abdomen and this watery discharge. My Dr. has cultured it for anything and everything, however, all tests came back negative and she really doesn't know why this is happening, she never said that it could be fibroid related, this discharge appears immediately after my period and stops completely after I ovulate, it is driving me insane and it's being going on for over a year now (this started BEFORE my fibroid grew to this size) I have an appointment with a RE in one week and hope that he can help me to get rid of these fibroids and related symptoms as they have now taken over my life and I'm ready to just GET THEM OUT OF ME!!! Anyway, I would really be interested in what information you have regarding the discharge. Sorry for the long post, Thank you. UPDATE on my Hysteroscopic Resection!! I still have many fibroids with a 4 month size uterus but I just wanted everyone to know that the hysteroscopic resection was a BIG success!! BUT, I still have the yellow watery discharge that I was told was from the fibroids. Initially, I was told that it would go away once the submucosal one was removed but it never did. Guest guest
Hi Everyone, It's been 15 months and I really have to say that my Hysteroscopic resection for my submucosal fibroid has been a BIG success!! Many of you remember that I have massive bleeding and severe anemia. Towards the end, I was taking 4 Slow FE a day just to keep my hemoglobin at 10. practically all month with clots the size and texture of sheets of beef liver coming out. Sometimes 6-8 inches by 6- 8 inches. I would go through 120 super plus tampax in 24 hours plus big pads. Now my period lasts for 3 days with the worst on day one. On day one, I only go through 20 super plus tampax, but then the period actually slows done and STOPS!! Guest guest
Thanks for posting on your success with resection. I think that it is important for women in this group to know of this option. The first doctor I saw for my heavy bleeding didn't even mention it as an option - guess what? He doesn't do resections! After finding this group and learning that my problems could be solved with an out patient surgery I found a local doctor to do a resection. I am shocked by the number of women who post on this site with bleeding from submucousal fibroids whose doctors never mentioned resection. Often times these women are told to watch and wait. I think that what the doctor wants them to wait for is to be so miserable that they consent to a hysterectomy. My advice is to women with submucousal fibroids is not to wait until the fibroid gets too large to have a resection. It is much easier to recover from a resection than an abdominal myo, hysterectomy or even UAE. > Hi Everyone, > It's been 15 months and I really have to say that my Hysteroscopic > resection for my submucosal fibroid has been a BIG success!! >
Guest guest
What is a resection, I have NEVER heard of it? Can you please explain the procedure? Who was the doctor that did this for you? Guest guest
Hu, A resection can be only done on smaller fibroids in a certain locations. http://www.myomectomy.net./hysteroscopic_myomectomy.htm Ku Pressacco gpressacco@...> wrote: What is a resection, I have NEVER heard of it? This website: http://www.gynalternatives.com/resectos.htm has a good explanation of the procedure.
