Guest guest
Try oral thiamine several times a day, then if that is not good enough try some benfotiamine or the allicin version of allithiamine. Do NOT use any more TTFD until every other possibility has been tried. Andy, What would be the dose of oral thiamine for a 28 pound, 2 1/2 year old? And are benfotiamine and the allicin version of allithiamine available only through prescription? My son has a script for TTFD that our DAN doc wants us to try for a month, followed by a toxic metals test. I'm guessing you're against this judging from your recent posts! Do you think DMSA is safer? Not sure why you're calling TTFD " poison " I know it's a complicated issue/answer, but a little insight would help a lot. SO many contradictory opinions out there. Guest guest
Dr. Megson in Richmond, Va prescribed TTFD (Authia cream) and Glutathione(not sure I spelled correctly) for my 4 yrs old son and we are using it from more than one month. We did not see any bad reaction. All we are seeing is good improvement in language, in social situations and general awareness but again this is its effect on my son and every kid is different. > > Try oral thiamine several times a day, then if that is not good enough > try some benfotiamine or the allicin version of allithiamine. That doesn't mean either TTFD or Russian Roulette are good ideas. > All we are seeing is good improvement in language, in > social situations and general awareness but again this is its effect > on my son and every kid is different. This is the most common positive report. For people who want their shot at getting this kind of positive response without the substantial risk of severe long term worsening of symptoms and appearance of scary new ones, all they have to do is try every OTHER form of thaimine available other than TTFD. The tetrahydrofurfuryl mercaptan in the TTFD isn't magic, it is poison. The thiamine is what provides the benefits and that is available in many forms. Andy . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . They are both over the counter, no Rx reqired. > My son has a script for TTFD that our DAN doc wants us to try for a > month, followed by a toxic metals test. In fact I would say that this alone means your doctor doesn't really have a clue and you'd do better to find another one or do it on your own. > Do you think DMSA is safer? Not only is it far safer, but it also removes heavy metals which TTFD does not. In fact, Lonsdale's abstract as thoughtfully posted on this list by Binstock suggests TTFD REDUCES heavy metal excretion. > Not sure why you're calling TTFD " poison " Because it is a poison. > I know it's a complicated issue/answer, This part isn't. TTFD is thiamine tetrahydrofurfuryl disulfide - thiamine and tetrahydrofurfuryl mercaptan linked through their sulfurs. The body quickly splits them apart. Tetrahydrofurfuryl mercaptan (what is split off of TTFD) is poison. The amount that gets into the body is clearly enough to do damage since about 20% of the kids given it have adverse reactions of serious long term worsening of condition, and more fail to tolerate it well. > but a little insight would help a lot.
