I am so happy for you Lai. I think everyone on this

list that had experienced myo will agree that one

feels a great sense of relief when it is over. I'm

kind of glad you mentioned the cold sore- I developed

cold sore for the first time after my surgery. Hmm! I

wonder if any LOL can relate to that. Thanks for

sharing your experience.

I'm getting myo late next month, and I am both looking forward to it

and a little bit scared. Thank you both so much for sharing your

experiences, and I'll look out for cold sores! (I've never had

those.)

Blessed be,

Jayelle

> Hi, Jayelle

> Good luck with your myo. I'm 29 years old and have already had two

myos done. You will definitely feel a great sense of relief.

Although, I've never had any problems with cold sores afterwards. :)

Anyway, good luck and let me know how it went.

I am 30, so I can sort of relate.

But tell me--two? My doctor basically promised me that the

myomectomy would ensure that my uterus would be pretty much fibroid-

free for a few years.

Thank you for your words of support.

Blessed be,

Jayelle

Thank you, Lai, for your very detailed report. I am having surgery

on June 29 and am just learning all about the options and what to

expect. I originally planned to have a hysterectomy because I am 50

and my fibroid is too big (10 cm) to take out any other way than with

abdominal surgery. I thought that as long as I was having the major

surgery, it would be best to avoid having to risk it again in the

future by having my uteris out. But, after reading many of the

postings here today, I am thinking I'd better call my doctor on

Monday morning and discuss changing it to a myo.

Any more advice anyone can give me about which option to choose would

be greatly appreciated!

Hi Pam

I just had my myo on 5/10. I am 46. At our age (closer to

menopause) and with fewer larger fibroids (vs. multiple smaller

ones), it is my understanding that the likelihood of them coming back

is not as great.

I hope your doctor has experience with myos.

All the best to you.
