The reason for no lotion is that it interferes with the sensors of the EMG

machine.

Med effects on EMG

Hi everyone. Hope each of you have a good restful weekend.

If you are in Florida it's suppose to be high 90's well at least in

central Florida. So guess its a stay at home in AC weekend

wondering if any can offer info/insight:

will medications such as klonopin, baclofen, zanaflex, ultracet, or

benadryl effect results of an EMG?

they didn't say not to take any medications, just not to wear

lotion/creams that day. i didn't ask why no lotion but curious how

would that affect results? my legs are going to look like fish scales

that day LOL. the thought of not putting on lotion that morning (test

is in afternoon) will probably bother me more than the test itself

anyway, medication effects on EMG?

have a good weekend and stay cool

meds don't affect the test/test results---what is looked at is something that is

there with or without meds that help us control our symptoms. sending good

thoughts about the test! sorry for delay....am behind in emails for the moment!
