How can I tell if the Lupron's working?

It's been three months since my last gyno exam, and I am getting

Lupron Shot Number 6, the last one, next week. I will then be

going for an ultrasound to see if the endometriosis has shrunk

enough to go after my fibroids, and if the fibroids have shrunk.

The thing is, my stomach feels as hard as ever, and it's as

difficult as ever to pull it in, and I still have to do it

porcupine-style. (Which is to say, very carefully.) I still

get cramps. I sure had the hot flashes from Lupron, and acne,

and everything else. The only things that didn't happen to me

were gaining weight or an increase in cholesterol, and that's

because I took real good care of myself these past few months.

I guess I would know for certain after the ultrasound, but I

wonder now: is it typical to feel just as yucky at the end of

the Lupron treatment as you did at the beginning? Do you feel

like your fibroids have shrunk at all? And if they didn't and

the endo didn't, what happens next?

Blessed be,

Jayelle

Hi Jayelle,

Just wondering, are you getting ready to get a myo? Why would you

keep taking the Lupron? I never heard or knew that endometriousis

would help to shrink fibroids. How big are they and what are your

symtoms?

Yes.

Why would you

I can't, after this month.

I never heard or knew that endometriousis

It doesn't. What it does is cover the bases of fibroids and make 'em

harder to get out. So the Lupron is supposed to shrink both.

How big are they and what are your

Well, I don't remember exactly how many I have, but it's lots. (A

couple of big ones burst.) My uterus is swollen as if I'm 6 months

pregnant, and my body pretty much looks, acts, and hurts as if I'm 6

months pregnant, only it's been doing that for almost a year.

Blessed be,

Jayelle
