Guest guest
Hi, You may want to find a RE (reproductive endocrinologist). They can be very good at performing myos. Since you want another child, this may be a good choice for you. Many OB-GYNs do not have myo skills. So they often tell women to have a hyst. Many don't even tell women they have other options. This can be a good clue about your doc. A doc may tell you that myo is a bloody surgery, your fibroid is too big to remove or you have too many fibroids to remove. In the right doc's hands, none of this is true. I would ask your doc how many myos he\she has performed. How many in a year, when did they do their last myo, what kind of complications have he\she had and how many of their myos turned into a hyst? I was told hyst 3 times. No docs in my town could do a myo (with 2 brand new women's hospitals). I found a RE in another state and had a myo. My RE did 3-5 myos a week. Pick a well practiced doc. Have yourself checked for anemia? This is very important. Have it checked. Another option is a UAE. Many don't recommend this option for women wanting to have a child. So Myo is probally your best option. If you tell the women here where you are, they may be able to tell you a good doc's name. If your doc doesn't tell you all your options and explain them, you may need a new doc. One very practiced in performing myos to be sure. Guest guest
Are you sure that it is 8 INCHES? That is very big for a newly discovered fibroid. Fibroids are usually measured in centimeters. There are 2.54 cm in one inch. So 8 cm would be 3.14 inch. If indeed it is 8 inches then you have a 20cm fibroid. > I'm 37 yrs old and was just found out that I have a Fibroid Tumor 8 " > in diameter. Guest guest
It was described to me as being the size an Cantalope. I asked if she wasn't sure that maybe it could be the size of a softball (using anything that I could think of as an example and hoping for something smaller) and the lady doing the ultrasound said that it was way larger. She held up a small ruler and informed us that we could consider this as being the center and make it into a big circle and yep it sure was one. I have several questions as far as if this thing has been there all along and just missed. The size for myself is also an issue considering for the last 21/2 years I have had to have a pap every 4 mos. Personally at this point can't wait until the doc is back from vacation. This is a lot to swallow and having to wait for answers makes this even worse. Way to may questions and no one to answer. Thanks to everyone for all the honest info on this site, it is very refreshing to hear from people in the same shoes as mine.
