I would like to see the list if you could please share it. I thought maybe I was going crazy but I know that because of the tubal it has caused a lot of pain and suffering to me mentally and physically. I said your cute because it is nice to know that I am not alone in this. That woman all over the world feel just the way I do. Sometimes I may seem a little off myself but I know why. Until I am fixed I hope you all can bare what I am going through! Did that make any sense?? R. - Emotions! I agree to a huge extent and I know that women go through some of this - period. Guest guest Posted September 30, 2003 Report Share Posted September 30, 2003 I am baffled as to why so many doctors refuse to believe there is a correlation between a tl and all of the symptoms women complain about. My doctor basically says that the hormones and the basic functioning of the reproductive system is exactly the same. that there are no change in hormones whatsoever, that tying the tubes simply prevent the egg from completing the journey. all other functions are the same and hormones should rise and fall etc...based on ovulation and periods are unaffected. that really does make sense logically. however, thousands of women cannot be wrong. i am astounded that most of the women in this group are intimately familiar with their bodies and can even pinpoint implantation! that amazes me. most women who have had tl's have had many, many years of experiences with their cycles prior to having the tl and they've had babies...they've done it all and they know what is normal for them and what is not.. when their bodies are completely out of whack, it's pretty insulting for a doctor to discount what they are trying say. for some reason, the doctors continue to bury their heads in the sand about this issue and the insurance companies follow suit. the female body is so much more complicated than the male body when it comes to this stuff. i haven't really heard much about vasectomies. don't know if there is a pvs??? doubt it. if there were, i am sure it would be given more credibility! in my case, i used to have really light periods, almost no pms whatsoever, very few mood swings and a normal libido... now, i have what they call " flooding " where I bleed almost uncontrollably for about two days (where you can't really plan to do anything on those two days without worrying that you are going to have a really embarrassing moment!), plus lots of blood clotting (never had that before) i have a solid week of PMS, really up and down emotions, and for about 3 out of 4 weeks every month, i have almost no sex drive. That's a bummer! These symptoms are all listed under the PTS lists that you see everywhere...there's lots more, but, I think i've managed to just be effected by the major three or four : ) I've had tests to rule out other possible causes for these symptoms and nothing comes up. clearly, when you start experiencing these symptoms immediately after a TL, the TL is most likely to blame. So, for anyone else out there who is having any of these PTS symptoms, my heart goes out to you...it is not in your head. i am really interested in hearing from people who have had a tr many months or a year or so ago and would like to hear if their symptoms have disappeared or lessened.. anyone out there? This was the main reason I started looking into reversals, who does them , how much, etc..... I mean my DH & I do want at least one between us but - well at the risk of just plain out sounding nuts- I have been on Zoloft, Paxil and now am taking Prozac. They seem to be working for now- but I NEVER had to take ANY of the them b4 my TL. coincidence- I think NOT!!! I ldon't believe in Coincidences. But for now the mental meds will help me to get to my ultimate goal- To fix the mess I've made of my fertility. I mean we as humans sometimes fail to realize the affects of what altering our natural hormones does to us not only physically, but mentally. On the physical side I have had way more painful cycles when AF comes to visit and I NEVER had that - even B4 my TL. It all adds up to the same conclusion, I need this surgery, if for nothing else but for peace of mind. Did that make sense? I hope I didn't make an idiot of myself....... I shared the sites with the group and encouraged others to also contact them as well. It has been months though and it would not hurt to do it again. What do you think? I remember someone on here that was wanting to contact Oprah and other shows about the problems after a TR, but I can't remember who that was. Now, my physical side effects are gone, but our emmotional side effects are still hanging on and our marriage is really on a roller coaster ride. I need to get a job before I can handle the cost of the TR to help fix my emmotional health. I just want to trust that the TR will not make my physical and emmotional health worse. I would open them up to huge class action lawsuits by all of the women who have been told that there are no complications or side effects. It is not normal for your body to reabsorb the eggs and hormones that do not flow because of the tubal ligation. Makes sense to me... I guess hindsight is always 20/20. I think many of us new better than to do it, but were pressured to. I know I was by my family. My poor husband begged me not to do it, even on the operating table he was saying don't do it. I guess I should have listened!! Oh well, what's done is done and all we can do is move forward and support each other as we move on to undo and learn from our mistakes. I heard that there was a show done on ( I think 48 hrs.) about histrectomys (spelling?) and the lady told me she thought they talked about tubals. Any idea? This is a lady who just had her first baby and it sounded like she was just partially watching. I would love to help make an impact on what so many Doctors still won't acknowledge. I'm surprised I never have seen anything on TV about this but I don't watch much TV. Was reading some of my e-mails from this group when I ran across this one about the PTS syptoms. I have experienced the clotting and not being able to go anywhere for at least the first couple of days during my period. I never thought of it being anything else.
