My myo was done in September 2003 by Dr. Gaither in Newton, Mass. Medical/surgical semi-private room: $862 Pharmacy: $321 IV Solutions: $198 Medical/surgical supplies, other: $151 Cytology: $45 Histology: $120 Operating room: $3,577 Anesthesiology: $464 Recovery Room: $1976 ____________________ Total: $7,464.44 In addition, Dr. Gaither charged $3,100. My insurance company paid him $1,237, which was the maximum amount he could get from them under his contract with them. So if you add the surgeon's fee ($3,100) with the hospital fees ($7,464), the total amount billed for the myo comes to $10,564.
