Guest guest
How do you know you have adenomyosis? I thought it was hard to differentiate between aden and fibroids until being cut open? --- " ringlein@... Guest guest
a, I have had an ultrasound, trans-vaginal ultrasound, CT scan, MRI, D&C along with laparoscopy and hysteroscopy. All the info points to Adenomyosis. You're right, it can only be positively identified in a lab after it's been removed. However, I've consulted with two physicians who specialize in myomectomies and both believe it is Adenomyosis and from the immense amount of research I've done, I believe it is, as well. On the other hand, my local doctors both recommend hysterectomy because of the possibility of it being cancer. Both the specialists told me that's totally hogwash and to not let that misinformation affect my choice of treatment. I am currently very fortunate to not have bleeding or pain--only a 14-week uterus and the discomfort that goes with it. Both surgeons advised me it would be perfectly okay to not do anything as long as I can tolerate the enlarged uterus. I am now re-thinking the whole treatment issue. Guest guest
The T2 differential of MRI can tell the difference for the Fibroids and adeno if the reader is good There is a surgery to remove adeno that is essentially the same as a myo but it removes the infected region --- a Stadner ontheroadagainwithoutyou@...> wrote: > How do you know you have adenomyosis? > I thought it was hard to differentiate between aden > and fibroids until being cut open? > > --- " ringlein@...
