Guest guest
Tam, Many of us have been through court battles for our kids (for me, it was my step-son and we won!) and it's a tough road. No one likes to go to court, but we are all here for you! Keep focused on your goal and don't let anything stand in your way. I'm a Medical Transcriptionist too, although I'm not working now instead I'm a SAHM (stay-at-home-Mommy) and love it! Keep those fingers typing and you'll be there in no time! We saved change too! Guest guest
Thank you for the warm welcome!! As I said, hubby and I have been discussing Dr. Levin for about 2 years. We went to a pottery shop and made a jar specifically for this purpose, putting spare change in it (although I have a REAL ACCOUNT for it now). DH brings me all his Kentucky quarters, so I know that even when he's feeling anxious about it, it's still something we both dream about. So we finally decided to do the prelim's...my doctor for me (and my path report), a swimmer count for him, and then a consult with Dr. Levin. So I saw my doctor (funny...for a guy so anxious to tie me up 7 years ago, he was thrilled at the idea of me having another baby...I think he hated my ex, too), and he was so excited that when I went to pay my bill there was a little plastic cup and a referral for hubby to a lab upstairs. So I get home and we chit-chat about the visit with my doc, and a couple of hours later, quite out of the blue, we are served with papers, being sued for custody and full child support for his two girls, who basically live with us!!! SOOOOO we haven't talked about the TR much since then (just a couple of weeks). Our lawyer thinks we can win this situation hands down, first court date is next Friday (ironically one year from when we met). And in the meantime, of course, there's been no visit to the swimmer-counter, but I don't think this is a situation where we'd wanna " go without " for three days, anyway. Hubby has given me a couple of Kentucky quarters so I know it's still something he's thinking about, if not concentrating on!!! So here's my plan...will I let his ex determine my reproductivity??? I do NOT THINK SO. Now I'm just more determined that this be a reality not a pretty fantasy...so I'm in the lucky position of being a transcriptionist. I did the math...if I type 2500 lines extra per pay period (that's like, 1-1/2 hours extra work a day) I can have the bucks in the bank in one year, rather than the original two-year plan. So there's my long story.... Kudos to you expecting moms, prayers to you TTCs (I learn the lingo fast, eh?), and $$ to you savers!! Guest guest
I hope I haven't given the impression that this is some marketing thing... I'll be glad to send the web addy for the company I work for to anyone. However, if you're not an experienced medical transcriptionist, you'd do better to check out courses for this if you're really interested. I studied at home for a year while doing another job before I started doing this, and I worked in-house as a trainee before they felt comfortable enough about my work to send me home to work.
