They're all in Toronto and you indicate which you prefer. I'm in Stouffville so these locations are nowhere near me. I know generally where the three proposed sites are located but I'm not familiar with them or their suitability for the meetup. I assume whoever has proposed them has checked that out. I'm hoping that there may be a few Toronto members of the embo and uterinefibroids lists that might post whether they are interested in attending, then we could get an idea how many might be there. I don't know who is co-ordinating the meetup or what format is followed etc but I think I'd be interested in attending. If you go to the meetup website and access the info for Toronto there have been 3 potential sites placed there. All of them are in Toronto. Apparently you need to vote for a preferred site or just indicate " no preference " . I'm not completely sure how the process works i.e. how the meetup site is finally determined or co-ordinated but there does have to be at least 3 people agreeing to meet to constitute an official meetup. I would assume the more people that indicate interest the more likely the chances that the event will take place. I looked at the Toronto site and checked the " tally " - it looks like at least 2 people in Toronto know where the Organic Buddha Cafe is since they've indicated that as their preference. If my vote worked I'm the " no preference. " It's not till the 15th, so there's still a few more days for more people to go to the site and vote. If it looks like the Organic Buddha is the designated meeting place, I don't mind just going there on the 15th and waiting see if anyone else shows up. I'll call first and get directions. Guest guest Posted May 8, 2004 Report Share Posted May 8, 2004 Hi Nadine. I checked the meetup site and the Toronto meetup is set for Sat the 15th at 2 Pm at the Organic Buddha Cafe on Danforth. I assume whoever suggested that venue will attend. If you plan to attend I think you're supposed to go to the site and register. It doesn't look like a lot of people have registered. Perhaps it's the fact that the whole thing seems so mechanized and anonymous. Perhaps if there is one meetup and people actually make contact, there will be more interest in subsequent ones. I got notice from the Meetup site today that the meetup is set for May 15 at 2 PM at the Organic Buddha Cafe in Toronto - the address is on the site. It doesn't look like a lot of people have registered - perhaps it's just that people are unfamiliar with the process. I find it a bit impersonal but perhaps if a few people show up it may get things started and something could build from it. I'm planning to attend as far as I know. I don't know exactly where this is - it's on the Danforth, so I assume it will be accessible by TTC. It doesn't look like many have registered on the site. Perhaps others from the embo and uterine fibroid lists will see the notice and attend. I don't know what to expect but I'm willing to drop by and see if anybody else shows up. Guest guest Posted May 11, 2004 Report Share Posted May 11, 2004 Hi. I checked the meetup board for Toronto again and there doesn't seem to be any activity. I thought I might just show up on spec in case anyone else attended but it's looks like it's going to be a great gardening weekend and I have tons to do so I don't think I want to take the time to journey into Toronto unless there is an official " meetup " which doesn't appear likely right now.
