I think she thought that this year was going to be like kindergarten too but she is finding out that there is alot more learning going on in the 1st grad then there was in Kindergarten. We were doing spelling list last night and she was sitting on the couch crying because I made her study. There is a test over the words every Friday. LOL! Guest guest Posted September 25, 2003 Report Share Posted September 25, 2003 How funny! My daughter always hated studying spelling too. We came to a comprimise. Since spelling is really memorization I would make her write each word 3 times then gave her a practice test. Each word she missed she had to write 5 more times. Needless to say she didn't miss too many words, she didn't like writing them again! She always gets 100% on her tests so it must work. Oh and after she gets 3 100's in a row she gets to go to 's (craft store) and get a craft. It won't be long till she will be having sleepovers and your house will be full of little girls.
