Guest guest
Hello, I heard that if you drink it really cold it helps. Best wishes for tomorrow. Marisa Bowel prep My myo is tomorrow morning at 7am. (send good, healing thoughts my way) so I'm drinking that NASTY Phospha soda now. Yuch. That stuff makes me nauseous. Does anyone have any hints for making it taste better?

Guest guest
Hi , I feel your pain...I had to drink that, too & it's awful! But it's good that it's not really that much compared to the huge bottle of the other stuff for bowel prep (don't know what it's called). And, don't let the ginger lemon flavor fool you - it's totally nasty, too!! Cold helps & drink it as fast as you can. If it's any consolation, to me that was just about the worst part of my ab. myo! ) Good Luck tomorrow! Keep us posted on how you do. ~Cindy (ab myo 2/19) > Lovely subject line, isn't it? Guest guest
Hi, Sorry I don't have any advice for you on the yucky stuff you have to drink. I just wanted to say good luck and I will be sending quick healing wishes your way. I just had my myo on March 18 and my doctor didn't make me drink that stuff. I wasn't allowed to have anything to eat or drink after midnight. Well, Good Luck and I hope you are feeling better real soon. Pam > Lovely subject line, isn't it? Guest guest
Hi, A bowel prep is for protection in case they accidentally nick your bowel during surgery. It has nothing to do with where your fibroid is. I don't know why some docs do it and others don't. Maybe some feel they'd never nick a bowel or bladder or anything else during surgery. It's a precaution. Before surgery you might want to request them to put meds in your IV to settle your stomach. The anthesia can sometimes upset your stomach. They should tell you things you need to know before surgery during your pre surgery visit. They'll check your lungs, heart, BP, blood tests and you'll fill out papers and they'll give you information. Like don't bring money and jewery to the hospital. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Hi members, I'm also schedule for a myo Wed at 7:00am. Five years ago I had UFE and it worked for me, but I just want to have my fibriods out. Guest guest
Hy Kathy, Just a question, you said you had a UFE 5 years ago and it worked........ I'm thinking about going for a UFE myself in the very near future (I already had a mayo 14 years ago and that worked too, but obviously the fibroids came back!) I would be very much interested in knowing how long did it take after the UFE for the fibroids to shrink, and what percentage did they shrink to? some websites say that the fibroids can totally shrink (100%) and that the chances of other fibroids growing are not high. my largest fibroid is 12cm, my only symptoms are heavy periods and swelling of my stomach especially before my period. I don't want to have the SUGGESTED hystorectomy, even though I'm 43 years old and do not want any more children, I still want to save my uterus. any information would be gratly appreciate it. Good luck with your mayo. Marisa Re: Bowel prep I'm also schedule for a myo Wed at 7:00am. Five years ago I had UFE and it worked for me, but I just want to have my fibriods out. Guest guest
Hi Marisa, I had a UFE and it stopped my symptoms but also blocked one of my tubes it must had gotten infected through the recovery time and I didn't know that until last week. It was very painful recovery for me maybe about 2 months. My fibroids did shink of little. One of them started getting larger again, so I don't know how long UFE procedure last. I think for myself its better to have them removed. Kathy --- marisa dicamillo mdc0610@...> wrote: > Hy Kathy, > > Just a question, you said you had a UFE 5 years ago > and it worked........
