Guest guest
Hello ladies, My RE has given my husband and I the opportunity to try some fertility medications. He suggested that we TTC for three to six months the natural way now that I'm off the pill. After that point he wants us to consider drug therapy because I grow fibroids at such a high rate I may grow new ones that will quickly become problematic. I just had several surgeries to remove most of them. There is an injection available that has a high rate of multiple births (20-30% chance.) I'm not quite ready for that. He also describe Clomid. As I understand it, Clomid is an oral medication that stimulates the ovaries to release more than one egg at a time. It has a lower rate of multiple births, but can still have that result in 8% of women. As for now, my hubby and I are TTC the natural way. It has only been a few months that we have been trying. I want to know the details about all our options now before we try anything in the near future (probably this summer.) My RE does not recommend that we TTC for over a year without drug therapy intervention. If any of you have taken Clomid for fertility, could you answer a few questions for me? 1. What were your physical and emotional side effects? Were they comparable to being on a high dose bc pill? 2. How long did you take Clomid? 3. Did you have success getting pregnant? 4. Did you have multiple embryos? Were you given the option to remove some of your embryos? 5. Why did you choose Clomid over another fertility drug? 6. Did you try other fertility drugs as well? Which worked best for you? Which ones? 7. How long did you wait to seek drug therapy for getting pg after trying the natural way? Thanks for your help. I am very curious to hear your experiences. This is a new realm for me, a little scary. My best to you, :)Sonja
