Ectopic pregnancy and big fibroid

I had a very funny week. Last Tuesday after the HCG

test, I was told that I was pregnat. Two days later, I

had another HCG test. The level almost doubled, which

is good. But since then, I got some spot and blood.

Yesterday I had to go the hospital because of

continous abdoment pain. After the ultrasound, it

turned out my pregnancy is ectopic prgancy. They

immdiately injcted Methoteroxate. The pain melted away

but I got more blood. I have a big fibroid measured at

11.50 * 8.8cm.

I was wondering if this fibroid caused ectopic

pregancy. Has anybody experienced of this?
