Guest guest
I have one comment, Find another gyn! I'm serious. What type of surgeon did your myo? It sounds like it might have been an RE. Talk to him and ask for a referral. I'm sure after all his hard work he wouldn't want you to get rid of your uterus since he did such a great job trying to preserve it. Please find another doctor. Guest guest
--- hi, i'm not an expert or a doctor but have read so many books/magazines/herbal store visits and seen so many doctors. i think you need to change your doctor since he is hysterectomy crazy. i'm in my late 30's never married and no kids. the last doctor i saw after i had my myomectomy was a woman and she told me not to ever get cut on again and definitely no hysterectomy if you are not bleeding alot or in dire pain!!! you didn't give any info about yourself. have you had kids already? do you have a husband? what's your age group and ethnicity? the reason i ask , is because i'm so tired of hearing doctors say that only black women get fibroids sinice i'm black. it mad me very angry til i met an white woman in her late 40's and shared with me she had them and did a hysterectomy. then i read something lately where the doctors find black and jewish women have a high percentage of fibroids. if you are married and have kids, then don't mess with anything. if it's not getting in your romantic life with your mate and you can fit nicely in your clothes, then leave it alone! good luck, In uterinefibroids , Diane P wrote: > I have one comment, Find another gyn! > I'm serious. Guest guest
Hi, Ask for a MRI. That should give you a clear picture. It doesn't matter what this doc believes. It only matters what you believe. If you do have new fibroids who says they'll cause you any problems. If you don't want a hyst, don't get one. Have you tried a RE? The surgeon told me he had gotten them all. Between August 2002 and July 2003 I had 20 ultrasounds (for IVF). none of them showed any abnormalities. In August 2003 I had a pelvic exam. The doctor said my uterus was perfect. The problem is my new gynecologist. When I told him i had 23 fibroids, he asked me why I didn't have a hysterectomy. He insisted that I had fibroids because it is impossible to remove all of them. I had an ultrasound. His lab tech said I had 2 or 3 fibroids. My question: HOW FAST DO THEY GROW? i DON'T THINK MY SURGEON MISREADead THE ULTRASOUNDS. I'm so upset because my gynecologist believes in hysterectomies. Any comments are appreciated. Thank you. Guest guest
Hi, Vickie Isn't it a bit CONVENIENT that the lab tech who works for the very same doctor who insisted you MUST have fibroids even found fibroids on the US? And no it doesn't seem at all impossible for ALL fibroids to be removed. Some very skilled surgeons have done it. IMO you need a second opinion as to whether or not new fibroids have grown up since your last US. And you need to switch gynos. If I had a gyno who only wanted to do a hysterectomy---and this one is obviously trying to sell one to you IMO---I'd be upset, too. Upset enough to switch doctors. New fibroids can grow but you can also treat the underlying causes of fibroids in the hopes that it will prevent new ones. The group HealingFromFibroidsNaturally offers information that I think you would find useful in attempting to prevent future problems. Take care and be well, Gloria The problem is my new gynecologist. When I told him i had 23 fibroids, he asked me why I didn't have a hysterectomy. He insisted that I had fibroids because it is impossible to remove all of them. I had an ultrasound. His lab tech said I had 2 or 3 fibroids.
