Hi All

Thank you for all of yor good thoughts and warm wishes. The

operation went very well. I checked into the hospital at 5:30 in the

morning. I feel very lucky as the hospital staff and my doctor were

wonderful. I was not lacking attention. Several nurses checked on

me and I had my mother and boyfriend waiting with me. They were

allowed to stay until the very last minute. The last thing I

remember after being rolled into the OR is having an oxygen mask put

over my mouth then waking up in the recovery room. I was in my room

by 10:30 am. The nurse gave me a shot of Demerol as I was waking up

so I felt no pain. I slept most of the day having just ice chips. I

was not on a Morphine drip. I got two more shots of Demerol that day

and felt pretty good. I was allowed some broth and jello that night

but really had no appetite. I actually got up and took a few steps

that night. The next morning, the nurse had me up and walking the

halls, then the catherter came out which was great. I was allowed

breakfast that morning but again really had no appetite. My doctor

came in to see me that morning and told me that what had looked like

one fibroid on the ultrasound was really two. The one that we were

operating for was 9 cm and they found a second one, almost the same

size hiding behind that one. Everything went great and she said if I

was doing well she would let me go home that afternoon. By two

o'clock I had done some more walking, gone to the bathroom and my

blood count was pretty good so they let me go home. I have been

doing as little as possible, some walking during the day. My mother

and boyfriend are being very overprotective and not letting me do

anything more than lift an empty plate. The pain has not been too

bad. I have had some mild burning around the incision which goes

away when I change position. I am counting my blessings that

everything has gone so smoothly. I have had no bleeding or spotting

and overall feel good.

I will keep you all posted on my recovery. Thank you again for all

of your warm wishes and support.

Hi everyone. My myo was on Monday and I got home from the hospital

last night. Everything went well. They removed 4 fibroids including

the big 10cm one. I had no endometriosis or any other complications.

The one post sx problem I had was pain management. The epidural was

only working on the left side so my right side was quite painful.

They tried everything to manage my pain so at one point I was on SO

many drugs. My o2 sats went down and I nened oxygen. Yestreday I was

in so much pain they weren't going to let me go home but I had a

bowel movement and felt MUCH better. So, other than the pain and the

gas, I'm pretty ok.

Thanks for all your support. I'm sure I'll right more as I feel

better.
