Hi there,

I am new to the group and 44 years old and have been living with one

large, fibroid, about the size of a 5 month old pregnant woman for

about 2 years. The only symptom I have is the heavy and prolonged

bleeding periods. I am at my wits end this time, with going on 2

weeks, with no end in sight. I do have an appt with Brigham Women's

in March for some relief and not interested in a hysto. Want to hear

more about the MRI guided treatment, as less invasive, the better.

Has anyone heard of this and willing to share any thoughts? I

appreciate it.

Hi,

Are you being treated for anemia? If not, check this out ASAP. Take slow FE iron

and vitamin C.

Been where you are now. Two trips to the ER. Had a myo, no more heavy bleeding!

A new life.

That would be one for the record books! :)) (just teasing- my uterus is the

same size and it's no fun (though I don't have the heavy bleeding that you do.)

Do you mean the focused ultrasound treatment? There are a few women here who

have had or are undergoing this.

Welcome to the group! I'm sure that you will find incredible support, & a

wealth of information and inspiration here as we all have.

Thank you for your welcome to the group! I am so over this whole

thing and have tired birth control. Yes, the focused ultrasound

treatment is what I was interested in and want to hear more about

it. My gyno was only into talking about a hysterectomy and I have no

interest in that at all. Do you remember when those women had the

treatment that I can email? Any help is greatly appreciatd!
