Hi,

I just joined a few days ago after searching for " double uterus " on

the net. Now I am just confused. My question isn't urgent, my

curiousity is just driving me crazy.

A few years ago I started the pill because I have always had such

painful and heavy periods. When my doctor examined me, she found a

large ovarian cyst, and sent me immediately down for a transvaginal

ultrasound. (This was all the very first time I ever had an internal

exam!) During the US the technician said " Hmm, has your doctor ever

told you that you have a double uterus? " When she saw my face she

told me not to worry, that I could still have children someday.

I hadn't thought much about it until I switched doctors recently. I

mentioned to her that this had been said to me, so she tried to check

through an exam for anything abnormal and couldn't tell. She offered

to look at my US, which she later said she couldn't be sure from it

either. She said she wanted more tests, but becasue I don't have

health insurance (I just went back to college)she said it could wait

until I get pregnant or ttc. When I looked this up on the net,of

course, I found out there are several different types of " double "

uterus. So like I said, it's not important that I know right now,

but I'm just really curious, is any type more likely than the other

in my case? I mean can't UD be ruled out because they didn't find

that during a pelvic exam? I feel really stupid, but just what is

and isn't seen on an ultrasound that they can't be sure?
