Dawn - Boo !! Actually the room that I was describing was the guest room. To scare you more, I should tell you that the bed in my bedroom, not unlike yours, is Mission Oak with a slatted headboard. LOL The dresser is a very old Birdseye Maple dresser that I had refinished in the soft honey color that matches the oak of the headboard. There certainly are some similarities there!

In the guest room that I had been describing to you, I have the bed set up as a day bed. I've done things that sound similar to your taste and have set up the extra bedrooms for uses like what you've done. As you might know, I live in the back extension of a house that was built in the early 1700's (1726?). As such, my upstairs section used to house the bedrooms for the hired help on the farm. My upstairs used to have six small (13' X 14') bedrooms, three on either side of a long hallway. At some point on one side of the hallway, they turned one of the bedrooms into a bathroom (very big !), and then knocked down a wall between two of the bedrooms to make a master bedroom (big). That leaves me with a large bedroom, bath, and three small rooms upstairs. I use one of the rooms as a guest room, one as an office, and am in the process of setting up the last one as a ccaft

room. I'm trying to do it in such a way that I can also have a futon in there that would turn into a dingle bed for guests ( as opposed to the larger futons that convert into a double bed). Since space is at a premium in the smaller rooms, I'll forego the thought of the futon if it doesn't look like it will work out space-wise. In any event, I'm having fun with all of the space.

In all of the upstairs rooms, I've painted the walls and trim white, preferring to pick up color in what I put into the room...I like the lighter simple look. It's just less overwhelming to me to look at. I've only been here a bit over a year so I've had a lot to tackle (and slowed by my not feeling well). Heck, I haven't even painted the new drywall in the upstairs hallway yet ! Anyway, it sounds like you and I share an interest in the craft thing. It's been nice for me to have some time to indulge myself in playing around with it again. Now if I could just feel a little better. Really woke in a major fog this morning. These constant med changes are kicking my butt to say nothing of my stomach.

Hope that you are feeling a little better at least. Please try to remember not to let the insurance folks get you down. I'm convinced that part of their job description includes the ability to frustrate folks enough that they will give up their effort to get claim benefits. Seriously, the more that they can hassle people the better chance that they have that folks will give up and then the insurance company won't have to shell out the money. Keep breathing and let your attorney do the fighting. Your job is to take care of yourself, stay organized with the paper they keep throwing your way, and know when to step back and make the calls to your attorney. Keep sipping. - Barbara

Barbara,

Please stop scaring me! Your bedroom sounds like it is decorated just like mine, except I have an Oak bedroom set with spindles on the back of my headboard!!

Barbara,

The problem I am having now is that I have to keep on the attorneys, because it seems to me that they are slacking off! I will keep all over them and if they do not do there job, I will go to the head of the firm who is an excellent attorney and let him know what is going on. I really do not care who see's my attitude anylonger, because I am not planning to give up any time soon! I know what you mean about the stomach though, because it is really making things horrible with me right now and do not even want to talk on the phone because I get so sick to my stomach! I did by dramamine today and fell asleep for four hours after taking it. I do not even know if I would have woken up if it was not for Holly barking and saying feed me its 10pm do you know what your puppy is up to!!!!! Well I gave her dinner and have not been that sick to my stomach knock on wood!

Your house sounds beautiful and a heck of a lot bigger than mine! I love the idea of having a craft room. That is a dream of mine and something I would love to have! I actually bought special glue for pictures and scrap booking today! I cannot wait to start that project, because I am going to put a lot of pictures of Dotti my other dog in there. The entertainment center and end table in my living room are all mission oak which I absolutely love! It definitely sounds to me that we have very similar taste and style to our homes. I like things to be comfortable and homey. I do not like the way my sister decorates, because you do not even want to touch her furniture and it seems cold to me! Well take care and hope that you also feel better soon.LOL and Best Wishes!!!

Dawn - Let me know how the scrapbooking goes. I've never done one, just the cards, cuz I just don't take as many photos as I used to. For my niece's wedding shower, though everyone was sent one page to do. It turned out beautifully and I'm sure that she'll always treasure it. It had about 50 pages and with each page coming from a different person it was a lovely reflection of how dear she and her husband to be were to so many people. Really lovely and a terrific idea.
