Contact lenses??

Hi all,

There was a post about contact lenses having Mercury in the

solutions .

How do I go about finding out if my specific brand has it still?

I use a daily disposable lens , so I don't use any solution to clean

them .

And the content of the lens says:

%31 Nelfilcon A and %69 water & isotonic phosphate-acetate.

I tried to look up the ingredients but it gets to scientific for me

LOL!!

I've not heard of any contact OTC contact lens solutions that

DO have mercury in them. This includes in the contact packaging.

To say that another way: I believe that OTC contact lens solutions

do NOT contain mercury. I believe that contact lens packaging

does NOT (when you buy the contacts) does NOT contain mercury.

Then again, I don't know what was said in this thread prior to

this post. I think I'm something like 4 to 6 weeks behind,

and I've finally abandoned the idea of trying to catch up.

Contact lens solutions used to contain thimerosal but (in the US) they were

supposed to remove it/quit including it sometime in the 1980s.
