Guest guest
Hi Sandy, I use xylitol when taste matters, like when I sprinkle it on strawberries. For me, it tastes just like sugar and doesn't raise my bgs. I'm also planning to make some rhubarb and I'll use it for that too, along with some stevia. I don't like the taste of stevia much...it tastes like licorice to me, but the rhubarb may conceal that. As for green tea, with all the ballyhoo about its health benefits, I don't understand why it *wouldn't* be good for diabetes. I've never heard that idea, and I'm constantly monitoring holistic supplements. Personally, I can't bring myself to drink it, as it tastes like iodine to me. I drink black tea instead of coffee, but as I'm very sensitive to caffeine, so I only drink one strong cup early in the day. If you are concerned, you might try having a cup, testing before and after. The only thing I can think of is that it might lower bgs a bit. I'm not sure that I would base my supplement decisions on one person's unsupported opinions.
