Sue no secret, sue. i just do more. i was doing water aerobics once a week, now i am trying for 2 to 3 times. i was only walking the dog for her 20 minutes once or twice a day (hubby & a friend of ours were walking her the rest of the time), but last week i started walking the 3 blocks up and downhill to work and taking the stairs to the 3rd floor of the hospital where i work as well. i'm planning on taking the dog out for longer as i can fit that in. i'm hoping to add some weightlifting eventually, and work on a bosu (like half of one of those big Swiss exercise balls) and my exercise ball and maybe the wobble board for core stability in the next few weeks or months. i have t'ai-chi tapes i love, too. none of those sound like a secret, so i am not sure what you mean. i like exercise. i found that deciding i liked it and letting go of not liking it about 9 years ago worked fine for me. it's like physics. i had to do a lot of physics for my medical training as an ultrasound technologist. i used to be intimidated by it for years, but about 3 years ago i decided i was going to investigate it and like it- - and i did. i enjoyed studying it and got a 98% score on my national board exam in May (had to brag! :-) ) so, depending on what you were asking- - - i find that there are a kazillion types of exercise out there. i'm going to like some of them; i'm not going to like others (and my BODY is going to like/not like other types too). the more types i try (the more i cross-train) the more i am enjoying. so it's kind of like a research project. daily, i give myself permission to NOT exercise and refuse to beat myself up when i don't do it. (what good would that do?) i also give myself permission to not like it. however i usually choose TO exercise because it is often, if not usually, fun, refreshing, and i feel good, if not during, then after. hope this helps kcd
