Studies showed that even though a LCer didn't cut back on fats their cholesterol didn't skyrocket. There are a few---about 20%---who don't react that way, however, and I seem to be one of them. Like you, I ate fats both saturated and " good " . I'd read about coconut oil, a saturated fat and how the studies about saturated fat were misinterpreted, resulting in the belief that saturated fats were " bad " . So I started using it to cook with. The final result was cholesterol in the mid to high 300's. So I cut back on saturated fats and started a low dose of Lipitor and things are normal once again.
