Guest guest
Hi Vicki, I'm not afraid to take insulin. I have been to 2 doctors since being diagnosed a month ago (my long time PCP - who I wasn't happy with, and now my new PCP who I really really like). Neither one suggested insulin - never even considered I would need it. I am currently in excellent control - however, the fact that Amaryl supposedly can kill off beta cells from what I have read, that does concern me. I really don't know what to do at this point but I will be asking my new doc about this next week. I am unsure if I should just continue along as I'm doing, go off the meds and see what happens, or suggest I try insulin - I honestly don't know what is best. Will probably see what the doc says and how I feel after that appt. Some people on another list said that most people who use insulin also use oral drugs. ?? Maybe and endo would be more in tune with me using insulin but since I have such good control, my PCP felt I didn't need an endo yet and that I might go off meds so I'm at a loss. ~Sandy (P.S. Nora thank you for the welcome) ------------------------------------------- Vickie: " HI, Sandy, may I ask why you don't want to take insulin? If you're afraid it'll hurt, let me assure you that it absolutely doesn't. Vicki "
