Guest guest
I guess you can tell where I fall on things from my subject line! I kept track of all of the money that my parents loaned me, the " nursing care " that my retired LPN mother gave me, and all of those things. I lived with them for about six months after my first back surgery, when I was under the " care of w/c " - NOT. Those fools did not pay me so much as a quarter from day one until we came out of court with a check 20+ months later! By then I was doing a lot better, but not really as good as I should. (It wasn't until 10 years later I was diagnosed with RSD, but we know now, I already had it then!!) Back to the real reason for this note. My mother ended up getting at least $1600 for providing food, nursing care (dressing changes), help with bathing and much many of those mundane items. I reimbursed my father for transportation to and from appointments. So yes, all of those items add up. I just looked up the going mileage reimbursement allowance for 2005. It is $.40 a mile. That is nothing to sneeze at. A trip of 5 miles round trip to the pharmacy 3 times a month, 12 months for the year, will be $72.00. So just think about it all, it can make a lot of difference. For those of you who might itemize your taxes, I hope you are keeping track of all of your medical mileage for the year. Drop me a private email if you have a question about taxes, as I do taxes (work for my Dad who is a tax preparer with over 35 years of experience.) Well, enough out of me.. No advertisements meant, just want you all to make sure you take the best advantage of the way we get taxed! Later, Twila C. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------May this day be long on blessings, short on pain and have a plenty of hugz in it!! -- No virus found in this outgoing message.
