HIHI CHRISTINA>> SORRY THIS MESSAGE COMES LATE BUT I FEEL YOUR PAIN IN THAT I LOST MY DAD AT CHRISTMAS TIME ALSO. EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A FEW YEARS AGO, THE PAIN COMES EVERY YEAR LIKE CLOCKWORK, BUT , YOU KNOW? I AM SURROUNDED BY PEOPLE WHO LOVE ME AND THEY WANT ME TO BE HAPPY AND CELEBRATE THE REASON OF CHRISTMAS WITH THEM. SO I PUSH AWAY THE SADNESS AND JOIN IN ON THE FESTIVITIES ONCE MORE. ..I'M SURE YOUR GRANDMOTHER WOULD WANT YOU TO DO THE SAME THING......TANYAchristina arinaga wrote:

·

well I went to the pain clinic i was

going to and they proceded to tell me that they can no longer treat me

because there is nothing they can do for me..they said that blocks wouldnt work

for me because i have had it for over ten years..that really blew my mind for

once i didnt know what to say..then they said they do not treat with any

kind of meds and they would recomend to my regular doctor to treat me..but here

is the crazy part my doctor sent me there to get treatment and they didnt want

to treat any one with rsd at what i have they also said i should go to a

physcistrist when i told them that i am going to one then they said maybe

my pain was not really pain...

Hello

Pamela,

I don’t know if I have ever spoken

to you before, but if not, I am glad to meet you. I recently went through the

exact same situation other than I am not seeing a psychiatrist. It gets to the

point where both doctors are telling you to get treatment from the other, and

you are left in the middle of this discussion with no where left to go, or a

way to get there. These are the people that are supposed to be professionals

and have some compassion for their patients. It is almost like kids in the

sandbox arguing over who gets the little patch that has more sand than anywhere

else.

I finally decided earlier this week that I

would give my primary doctor one more shot, even though I had been told that

they will not prescribe any narcotic pain medications. That one last shot

proved to be rather shocking to me, but pleasant with the end results. The doctor

apologized for not prescribing for me before, but he said that he has to get a

feel for the patient to see if they are just after the drugs, or if they are in

pain. We spoke for about 45 minutes, and that was a heck of a shock too. He

prescribed the pain medication that I had been on previously, and he actually

has another patient with RSD. He provided me with some additional printed

material on RSD that he found in his computer system too.

Reach out for that one last shot Pamela,

and hopefully you will be as surprised as I was. I know how difficult it is to

try and keep things moving along when all of the doctors seem more interested

in the money than the patient. Take care and I hope you have a beautiful

sunrise to greet you in the morning.

Great response to Pam, Mark. Thanks for saving my fingers and really nice to click on your email knowing that it would be supportive and caring. Pam, you might also ask your primary doc to directly with pain clinic doc. Between the two of them, they have to have at least some responsibility....In my book, there would be no excuse for them to leave you in pain with no treatment. Barbara

Thanks Barb,

I know we all got a little sidetracked

there for a short spell, but ultimately that is why we are all here. Even after

being missing in action for that six or seven months there was one thing that

was immediately noticeable when I came back. We are a family to each other, and

we need to remind ourselves of that every once in a while. I hope everyone has

a less stressful, and a less painful day…

Hey Barb, as luck would have it, Woodstock is 5 miles from my house - honest. Not the one you meant I'm sure - but I do have some tie dye t- shirts & milk & brownies for snacks.

[ I've read all my mail in 'cronological order' and I'm writing back in reverse order]

Love you, faye BARBARA TORREY wrote:

Pam,

I really can't help you too much with the spasms.. Mine, when I have them, are

never that severe.

I am so sorry about this pain mgmt Doctor. I hope, as Mark said, that you can

find a primary care physician who is compassionate enough to help you.

Hugs,

Jo

Okay Faye,

I am totally confused! If you live 5 miles from Woodstock, how is it that I live 12 miles from Woodstock and used to go shopping there all the time! THE BEST LITTLE TOWN AND SOME VERY INTERESTING SIGHTS TO SEE!!!!! LOL
