Guest guest
Hi Jill, I do not have an answer for you, but wish I did. My daughter is 24 months old and does not walk, crawl, or stand. She has sever low muscle tone. No doctor has ever been able to tell me why. She has had every test imaginable and it always comes back normal. She is diagnosed autistic with sever hypotonia (low tone). I tried L-Carantine for one month and did not see any improvements. I hope you have better luck than I did. Rochelle [ ] Low muscle tone...What is the cause? Can it change? Hi, Just wondering if anyone knows what causes low muscle tone in kids. I was underweight and pretty nutritionally deficient, as well as having been a vegetarian for many years, before my pregnancy. Though I gained 37 pounds while pregnant, I still don't think I ate well enough. Well, I ate lots of vegetables, but too much bread probably. Then, I breastfed my son exclusively for one year, no food until he was 12 months old, and while his weight gain was sufficient, I wonder if I " starved " him...since I was not eating too responsibly at that time, protein-wise. I started him as a vegan, but have been feeding him white meat and eggs for the last ten months or so (though he doesn't love those foods). He was never vaccinated. My OT doesn't look at the nutritional factors -says there's no research, etc. Can low muscle tone ever become " normal " muscle tone? I have just begun to give him (and myself) aminos and L-carnitine. Or...is it thought that Mercury or other metals are what cause low tone? Any thoughts, facts, opinions are welcome! Thanks! Guest guest
Might want to try HNI enzymes. No matter how much or how well one eats, the body may not be able to process the nutrients properly. I was down to 82# at the worst of my mercury poisoning (5'6 " adult) and got back up to 100 on enzymes before having my fillings replaced. Guest guest
Low muscle tone was our first " warning sign " with , right from birth. No one has ever told me why, and his first diagnosis was low muscle tone at 9 months. With a year of PT once a week and me following up constantly at home he crawled at 12 months, walked at 15 months and ran at 16 months LOL (see the progress there?!) He's still has the " bag of potatoes " feeling when carrying him but not nearly as he had in the past, and he's still very flexible, but I'd say its improved over the last year. Guest guest
Rochelle, My son will be 6 in December. He is autistic and has low muscle tone. We noticed once we started chelation that his muscle tone got better. He never jumped until he was almost 4 years old. After almost two years of chelation, he was jumping on beds and off the sofas. After 5 months of homeopathy, he is jumping from the very tops of my sofas to the floor. I believe that I read that if the body cannot rid itself of the metals, they go to the organs, muscles and brain and stay there. We believe that the metals in his body were in the muscles and causing his low muscle tone. He went an entire year of physical therapy with no changes. Once we started chelation probably about 6-8 months into it, his muscle tone started to get better. Hope this helps. Jean > Hi Jill, > > I do not have an answer for you, but wish I did. Guest guest
If Owens does not answer this tomorrow you might want to email her- she looked at my son amino acids report when he was very young several years ago and told me the body uses muscle if it does not get the amino acids it needs to function- I wonder if this is whats going on with all of your children ? testing for amino acids can be a really a waste of time with out a fast( you just get a copy of what your child has eaten last) and amino do compete with each other- some doctors like to compound special aminos but it is based on a moment in time... I personally used two different types of amino complexes- small amounts several times a day... I am so proud of my sons muscles. Guest guest
Hi Who is your homeopath? And what type of chelation did you do? Is your son still autistic, per se? Thanks for all of this info and congratulations on the changes you've seen. Best- Jill n , " jeankrum " <Krumenacker@r...> wrote: > > Rochelle, > > My son will be 6 in December. Guest guest
- Your post was fascinating. My daughter can not jump yet, and she is four. We just started chelating her, so I will be looking for this improvement!! I will probably be the only Mom in the world who will ENCOURAGE jumping on the bed! Thanks!!! -- In , " robinsnd " <Jill@j...> wrote: > > Hi > Who is your homeopath? Guest guest
Minitramps (rebounders) are good for jumping, (vestibular exercise). One can have the child stand on the minitramp holding hands with an adult, also on the minitramp. The adult bounces gently and the child gets the effect. Guest guest
1 - Jumping. Oh, I was happy too to see her jump on the bed... and, you know, even more happy to then... forbid it ! Those moments... ;-) 2 - Homopathic What was the homeopatic treatment aimed at ? (getting rid of " remains of vaccines " ?) 3 - ASD with Hypotonia and metals Let's take the hypothesis that " heavy metals can cause autism, but autism can also have other causes " . Is there data or idea telling that ? : " ASD children who have (or have had) hypotonia are more likley to be metal poisonned than their non-hypotonic ASD peers " Therefore encouraging especially hypotonic children to start Chelation ?
