Guest guest
Caren, is it hard for you to eat steak and pork chops? oh you bet, altho Pats mom makes realllly tender pork chops and cuts it real tiny for me if I am at his house. I eat ground beef ALOT, with smashed potatoes and gravy or with mushroom soup as gravy (i like sheperd's pie too) I also eat lots of chicken, sausages (no skin), easy stuff to swallow. I have not had steak in a LONG LONG time -Caren

Guest guest
Those of us with double facial paralysis (or extreme facial weakness) have difficulty eating meat, Cindy. Hard to chew cuts, that is, like steak. At least I have a hard time with those. Ground meat is OK for me though...I love meat loaf with mashed taters and gravy for that very reason. I could eat that 7 days a week, easily. Caren, is it hard for you to eat steak and pork chops? Guest guest
Poultry tends to turn to sawdust in my mouth unless I have lots to drink with it. Steak I have no problem with as long as it's cut small and cooked tender I like Mexican since it just about all near liquid consistency Pete -----Original Message-----From: CarenAnn1977@... Guest guest
I have pretty bad facial paralysis, but I have no problems eating meat. I love cooking steak on the grill during the summer. I do have problems with being really messy when I eat though. Guest guest
Caren, a rib steak on the grill is very tender, even more tender than those pork chops, just cut into small bites since beef has a tendency to swell a bit when chewed. Guest guest
Strange how we are all affected differently. hAVE NEVER HAD PROBLEMS EATING OR DRINKING ANYTHING, and when in oz marcus kept trying to cram straws in my drinks to drink and I'm like, " I DON'T NEED ONE! " But anyway yeah, can see if the lips were affected even a little more would be difficult and thats one reason hope these regrowths do not ever grow more (praying!), Im sorry so many here have to deal with that annoyance on top of the other BS. I do have a hard time cutting anything bc righthand isso badly affected, rod cuts for me. I did find a nice set of one handed knives though, they work great! Guest guest
I am with the difficulty of eating meat. I have swallowing difficulties, and my teeth have really given me problems, in that I don't molars on the side with partial paralysis. I will just stick to my chocolate ice cream I guess. I also drink EVERYTHING with a straw - including beer. marie Re: drink (weight) > Those of us with double facial paralysis (or extreme facial weakness) have > difficulty eating meat, Cindy. Guest guest
Lots of ground meat, and anyone can eat refried beans (if you can stomach them)!
