Well, like many in the USofA, I have tunnel-vision about what's available on

the market!

Forgetting the rest of the world is one of our nasty traits! Sorry!

On your Accu-Chek, have you looked lately for the " Comfort-Curve " strips? It

may be that they just took much longer to get over there.

I really like my Accu-Chek as it's proven it's reliability & accuracy for 7+

years now until I dropped it on a concrete floor & it flew into many

pieces!!! I switched to my backup that I'd been using at work before retirement

a

year ago & it's still perking along. It's 6 1/2 years old.

BTW, I called the manufacturer (Boehringer-Mannheim) & I received a

replacement meter & bottle of 50 C/C strips in 2 days, at no charge.

A satisfied customer.

> A lot will depend on which part of the world you are

in. US companies tend to try to export their obsolete

material. We bought our Acu-Checks just over three

years ago and I never saw " comfort-curve " strips on

sale here.

Two years ago my wife and I were given free FreeStyle

meters and never looked back. I suppose the time has

come to trash the Acu-Check meters if we can overcome

the sentimental attachment and the fond memories of

all the 4 a.m. sessions we spent together sitting on

the edge of the bed looking at a sinking 45 mg/dl

which we couldn't shift and wondering when to make

that phone call!
