Hi ,

I bought the vanilla kind - it doesn't say to refrigerate that one and is in my

cupboard - think it should last quite a while. I also bought the maple syrup

one and that one said to refrigerate so should also keep a while. I would ask

the company though as I haven't had them long enough to know if they spoil.

There is no expiration date on them though. The vanilla had sort of an

aftertaste I didn't care for and the maple syrup is " okay " for pancakes (a

little watery but I was used to our homemade maple syrup :o(

I'd like opinions on other flavors like chocolate!

Re: Da Vinci syrups question

For those of you who use Da Vinci syrups, how long does a bottle last

after opening it? I probably wouldn't get much use but it would nice to

have some occasionally. Just wondered once it is open is there a time

frame you must use it.

No time frame, and it doesn't have to be refrigerated either.

I like the peanut butter flavor and the Kaluha flavor. But none of the

flavors are very strong. OTOH, you can add as much as you want with no

consequence to BGs.

I'd say *very* watery. Stir in a little psyllium or guar gum to make a thick

syrup. Do it carefully because they tend to form globs if you put a lot in

at once.

Yes - very watery - lol - just didn't want to discourage anyone from getting

them ;o)

Does the psyllium or guar gum (I assume I can get this at a health food store?)

add any kind of 'grittiness' to the syrup though?

I've had a couple of bottles for several years. Use occasionally and

I've kept them in the cabinet, not the fridge. They seem ok to me.

My favorites are Peppermint Paddy; Carmel; and Root beer on low carb ice cream.

Have a partial bottle of " Peanut Butter " Davinci open and on the counter - have

never refrigerated it - been open for 2 - 3 months now. It's not my fav.

flavour, so taking a while to use up in baking etc.....not spoiling at all!

Kalua, ameratto, B52 etc doesn't get a chance to sit around that long

I've looked in all those stores around here and have never seen

them. :( YTJMMV. (Your TJ Maxx may vary!)

I just assumed that all Da Vinci syrups were low carb, so bought a

bottle when I saw it at WalMart. I had been putting some in my coffee

for a while before I looked at the Nutrition Info and saw that it had

sugar! Sue

I definitely looked during that period. That's almost the only time I

go to TJ Maxx. I looked in two different stores. Good idea to talk

with the manager.
