Guest guest
I lost 25 pounds and kept it off for about five years, but in the past year I gained 5 pounds back and can't seem to get rid of it. To lose the weight, I started exercising and also developed my own WOE (way of eating). After I lost the weight, I have basically stayed on the same WOE. I am exercising less, and that's probably why I gained the 5 pounds. Sue On Sunday, January 1, 2006, at 01:41 PM, Palmer wrote: > > Have any of you had success at weight loss? If so, how? Guest guest
I lost 65 pounds in the first 6 months by carefully watching carbs and fat, and increasing my activity and exercising. In fact I got so good at losing weight that I had to add fat back into my diet to stop the weight loss. I gained back about 15 years over the past 3 years, but I feel good at this weight. I'm 5'7 " and weigh around 140 lbs. At 125 lbs. I think I was too skinny for my frame. Good luck in achieving your goals!! I actually didn't set out to lose weight, I just wanted to get healthy and get my BG under control. I did take metformin during the first 6 months, but have been on just D&E for the past 3 1/2 years. I'm sure open to suggestions. Since I started taking Glucovance and Avandia, my weight has gone nowhere but up slowly but steadily. Happy New Year! Guest guest
Avandia put about 30 pounds on me. From February to July I lost 60 pounds by switching to a plant based diet (high fiber, low fat, moderate carbs), quitting 200 units of insulin per day, quitting avandia, and walking about 4 miles each day. I think quiting the Avandia and insulin was probably responsible for about 20 of the lost pounds. The diet and exercise change was responsible for the rest. > > Hi. I'm fairly new here. Guest guest
Exercise is great. But most of us don't have time to do a daily 4-mile walk. I figure I'm lucky if I have time to get my half hour walk in every day. If I don't do it right after breakfast it doesn't happen. So I make sure to do it right after breakfast, smile. Guest guest
I never meant to suggest that I walked 4 miles in one session. I think most folks can walk at least 3 miles per hour, which means that you can walk a mile in about 20 minutes. That also means that you can walk half a mile on a coffee break, instead of sucking down caffene. There are lots of ways to get extra walking in. I walk one mile on my lunch break, one after work, and one or two after supper. I also park at the furthest corner of the parking lot at work, which means that I walk an extra mile per week just going to work each day. And I always park a long way from the grocery store or whatever, which adds up to another couple of miles per month. For me at least, it is not how much I do at any one time, but how much I do total, that counts. > >> > >> Hi. I'm fairly new here. Guest guest
After a week of holidays from my husbands by-pass REHAB we were back at it today. Arrived, changed into runners (from snow boots) checked my BG's (5.4) and set out to do my 45 laps (3 miles) which I accomplished in 50 minutes. collapsed into a chair, got out my meter wiped the sweat from my hands (and brow) and checked my BG's again (5.6) sometimes I think I should stay in bed CJ --------------------------------- Original Message: Date: Tue, 03 Jan 2006 04:25:48 -0000 Subject: Re: New Years Resolution I never meant to suggest that I walked 4 miles in one session.
