Guest guest
Oh ,,, I'm sure glad my ancestors were TRANSPORTED to OZ a few hundred years back. ;-) A few hereditary chain scars sound like a picnic compared to the health care in the UK Marcus from OZ ----- Original Message ----- > > Hi all, > I would welcome opinions on whether or not my experiences are common in > other countries or whether this is an England NHS phenomenon. > > I have what I am sure are excellent surgeons. Guest guest
Guess we just don't know how lucky we are until you hear something like this. We have had appts when my daughter or husband go for MRI's in the a.m. and then hand carry the hard copies to the neuro or surgeon for an appt the same day Elaine
Guest guest
In all my mri years I get an MRI then see the dr in next week or whenever I make the appt, he gets the report and films in a few days. I dont know what england has but i wud not like any kind of managed health care however many in canada do quite well, just gotta become a pro and learn how to work the system to your best advantage I guess. wrote: > It should NOT take two months just to read your MRI NO WAY. Guest guest
It should NOT take two months just to read your MRI NO WAY. You could be on a slab for all they know. As for mine they were sent to a busy clinic and it was 500 miles from me the dlivery the passing around from Dr to Dr and the snail mail wow and there was the answer in two weeks. Guest guest
We live in Alberta Canada...my son had an MRI done in the middle of sept last year and we waited until the end of Nov to get his results...after constant calls and e-mails..i finally got thru and got an appointment. Our family doctor had had the written results a month before that but he has never read and MRI report before so he was no help. I was told the excuse was he was away on holiday and the office was being moved. Now he only see'e patients 1 day a week so who knows what will happen next. RE: what's it like elsewhere??? Just about all my MRI's are like this. I have the MRI at 10am and see the Doctor about 3pm of the same day and he has all the results and the reading done Pete -----Original Message-----From: powerful6@... Guest guest
We live in Newfoundland, Canada and we only have one MRI machine so we have to wait anywhere from 1 1/2 years to 2 years for an appointment then you have to call and keep being persistent for the results or else they are either lost or not read at all. we had to fly to Los Angeles for surgery on his AN and i asked the doctor to arrange MRI there so it was done the same day. I guess money talks in some places. we are unfortunate as to have not enough MRI machines but we are lucky to have a provincial health care plan, you just have to do the research and bugging yourself....wanda PJL wrote: We live in Alberta Canada...my son had an MRI done in the middle of sept last year and we waited until the end of Nov to get his results...after constant calls and e-mails..i finally got thru and got an appointment. Our family doctor had had the written results a month before that but he has never read and MRI report before so he was no help.
