Guest guest
One of the pieces of metal landed in my home town, Palestine, and then debris was scattered all around towards where I live now, Kilgore. said that he even felt the tremor about 9:00, like they talked about. He said he thought it was me running over the house! (I had gone to get groceries) I can't believe this has happened NOW, I am sure they are so thorough with the shuttles. Sad Day. Donna gives you an idea of how fast they were going. NASA lost contact at 9:00 AM Eastern, while it was over TEXAS. The shuttle was scheduled to land in FLORIDA 16 minutes later. Guest guest
Pete Just heard about the space shuttle. 7 people aboard . Joyce M. -- Space Shuttle If you have not heard, the Space Shuttle Broke up on Re-Entry over Texasthis morning. Search and Rescue is under way but since it was nearly 200,000ft and going about Mach 12 (12,500 Miles an Hour), it is doubtful they willfind much. Because of the Height and Speed, terrorism is unlikely, thoughSabotage always remains a possibility.Pete-----Pete BraymanAIM: PeteEMT
Guest guest
That explains why I saw a photo of Mission Control when I was flipping thru the channels looking for some captioned news. Was this an unmanned (I hope) space flight? Marie Space Shuttle > If you have not heard, the Space Shuttle Broke up on Re-Entry over Texas > this morning. Guest guest
I'm upset to read this, so are my family. The loss of life is very sad. The space shuttles mean a lot to the western world even if it is a USA program. Also things like this tend to put a lot of research many years behind, and with so many off-shoots in medical science from the space program its a set back for everyone. I saw it in the library of our school during my sophmore year. I told my now husband about it and he thought I was telling him some sick joke. (It happened on his birthday.) Makes me sick to my stomach. I just ache for all the families and I am appalled at the new reports of people trying to find pieces for souveniors (sp?). That just disgusts me. Blessings,
