Guest guest
Hello Helen, I thing I'll try benfo this time as I previously tried AFA and EFO, but I didn't notice any change in the condition. Thanks for taking the time to answer my question. I'm sitting here alone with the problem, so I really needed it. Thanks again. ----- Original Message ----- First line of treatment is alpha lipoic acid with evening primrose oil. Up to 1800mg of ALA daily, timed release, with up to 4 grams of epo. Way more than I am taking, btw, tho I am thinking of increasing the epo when I place my next order. This is probably the cheapest way to go. My neuropathy started in 1993 in my back. I began ALA/epo about two or three years after that. Once I decided it wasn't helping and stopped; the progression was alarming. So, for me, it has slowed it down. For you, it may stop it dead. Be aware the combo can also lead to lower bgs. ALA is a biotin antagonist and you will need to take 5 to 10mg of biotin a day too. I believe Dr. Bernstein covers this in his latest materials. Benfo is now available at places like iherb for a lot less money than when it first came onto the market. I used 320mg a day for around three months, but had to stop, I could not bear the pain. Everyone said that was a sign of repairing nerves, nevertheless, life became impossible. If you put Stan Angilley into google it will take you to a paper he wrote about supplements and neuropathy. Stan died several years ago and so the paper has not been updated; however, it still contains important material. Good luck, Helen
