Guest guest
" Losing weight " as a symptom of T2 diabetes is not from the " diabetes " , itself, but from the resulting " uncontrolled very high bg's " . A diabetic with low bg's doesn't exhibit the " losing weight " symptom. It's YMMV, of course, but this weight loss generally doesn't happen until bg's are " really high " , like over 200 or higher. Before my diagnosis, I lost weight rapidly, & at diagnosis, my fasting bg was 350mg/dl & HbA1c 15.5%. You mention 115mg/dl, but was that down from what it was while you were losing weight? ***************************************** , T2, dx'ed 4/98 with Fasting bg 350mg/dl & HbA1c 15.5% Controlling until last month with LC-D & very little E Average Fasting bg 105mg/dl, Last HbA1c 6.0% 7+ Year Historical HbA1c 5.6%-6.0% Now Experimenting with Metformin, Glyburide & " Merlot Therapy " for HbA1c nearer 5.0% >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>> I lost 25 pounds over the last year and was borderline (115) fasting last August. My dad has diabetes 2 diagnosed late in life in his 70s. Losing weight is also a symptom of Type 2. <<< ***************************************** , T2, dx'ed 4/98 with Fasting bg 350mg/dl & HbA1c 15.5% Controlling until last month with LC-D & very little E Average Fasting bg 105mg/dl, Last HbA1c 6.0% 7+ Year Historical HbA1c 5.6%-6.0% Now Experimenting with Metformin, Glyburide & " Merlot Therapy " for HbA1c nearer 5.0% >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
