Guest guest
> Well...if you don't have diabetes your pancreas > makes insulin all of the time. So why would injecting > insulin shorten life? It has been shown that injecting insulin increases the mortality of diabetics with advanced heart problems by four times compared to that of diabetics taking oral medication with heart problems but nobody yet knows why. By " shortening life " is meant in this case: significantly reducing the chances of surviving a heart attack by more than one year. My thought is: The insulin you inject is not exactly the same as the insulin made by the human pancreas. Human insulin is synthesized, either by a DNA process or by a chemical process, maybe they did not get it quite right yet? It also contains additives to preserve it outside the human body, to prevent bacteria from forming and to modify its action time. Some people develop allergies to those additives, and isn't it possible that advanced heart patients are more sensitive to them? Anyway, the fix for us is clear: Do everything possible to maintain a healthy heart, which is what we should all be doing anyway. Some cardiologists even suggest that diabetes should be treated as a heart disorder with associated blood glucose symptoms, which is more or less the way my own physician looks at it.
