Guest guest
..I would call your dr and ask what he suggests. You can even ask your pharmacist if you get all yor meds filled at the same pharmacy. Most likely they will suggest something over the counter to help at first and if that doesn't help there are prescription drugs that can help also. But call your dr..they can usually tell you over the phone what they suggest. Guest guest
Also some urinary retention. But I need an advice how To kick the constipation and also if is possibly with urinary Retention Hello Again , I think most of us who have taken large doses of some pain meds have bumped up against the constipation issue. I also take MS Contin, but double your amount, and three times a day. I had been on the immediate release Morphine Sulfate at one time too. I usually get a stool softener that my pharmacist recommends, but I know there are still days when things are a little difficult. I had broken my hip about 3 months ago and had the urinary retention issue that you speak of. While I was in the hospital they prescribed Flomax and I did not have any additional problems after that. It is a medication that your doctor would need to prescribe, but you shouldn’t have any further problems if that is what they recommend. Good luck and I hope you find some relief soon. Guest guest
- Re the constipation and urine retention, be sure to tell your doc about them. There are things that can be done to help. Re the constipation, sometimes over-the-counter meds just don't do the trick. I know that I use a powder (Glycolax/Miralax) each day with instructions for when to bump the dose. I even have, at their request, an second jug of ....seriously, "Go Lightly" (not true....the name is absurd) after I ran into severe difficulties. After using it, they wanted me to have a back-up on hand. Don't mess with this stuff. Tell your doc. He or she can help you out. Guest guest
, Being in a good mood doesn't necessarialy mean that its because of the Adderall. It could be because you just are. My daughter was on Adderall for a while...from August to Jan., and, It never really changed her good/bad moods, it only changed her behavioral moods so that she wasn't always wanting to fight about everything. She's only 9 years old, and constantly wants to argue with everyone, fight over anything and everything. Totally drives me crazy, but, she has ADHD...don't remember which "type", and I have ADD, the "daydreamer" type. So, we are bound to collide no matter what. When she was taking the Adderall, everything was going really good....she was doing her homework without any problems, she was getting along with her sister and cousins really good with very little fighting or storming out crying, throwing stuff across the room screaming and yelling while she stomps down the stairs and slamming her bedroom door stopped....we was no longer walking on eggshells around her, waiting for the next bomb to explode. Then, she would start finding ways of getting out of taking her morning dose. things were still going ok without it....but, stuff was a little touchy, not as bad though as it was when she wasn't taking any at all. She was supposed to be taking 15mg in the morning before school, and 10mg at 12...lunch time at school. So, I knew that she was taking the noon pill, there was no way out of it because the school nurse gave her the pill, watched her take it, and checked her mouth after she swallowed it, to make sure that it went down. Then, on Jan. 28, The State of Iowa decided that anyone on Medicaid (State funded medical care) really didn't need to be on most of the medicines manufactured, and stopped paying for them. Adderall/Ritilan and all others in that Group, was on the list of no more payments. So, we was unable to get her prescription filled, and there is no way I can afford to pay for them myself. This past Month, has been major hell. Constant fighting, doors slammed, stuff broke, stuff thrown, the works. BUT, her Moods are ok. So, never say that you are in a CHEMICAL Good Mood...because its just not true, it is impossible. Unless you are taking too much and are getting high off of them like a common street druggie does. Guest guest
Dave, My Mullerian Anomaly (MA) is, in laymen's terms, half a uterus. Finding this out at 25 was devasting, I cannot imagine the confusino and pain your daughter is feeling founding out about her condition at 16. This group has many great contacts to women with MAs and links to other websites and groups. Contact as many as you can to find other women with your daughter's condition so she can talk to them, or at least have the ability to. She needs to know she's not alone. Any woman here would be happy to talk to her, myself included. My thought is the best women for her to speak with would be someone with an MA who is unable to bear children-which would be the closest to her condition. Best of luck and your daughter is my (non-denominational) prayers. sonny0248 sonny0248@...> wrote: ian a single parent (guy) and i was at the doctors with my daughter now 16 and we have been asking the doctor for the past 4 years about her not starting her period , and they said it is not uncommon for some girls to start late so they kept putting it off until her next yearly visit well her last visit was 2 weeks ago and so they finally decided to run some test well to make a long story short they for out she had only 1 kidney and no female organs inside . they talked to us ( my daughetr and i) and set us up with the specailist they told us she has ... mullerian anomalies .. and.. mullerian atresia... my question is can anyone tell me what to expect? and help me understand this. dave Share bookmarks: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MullerianAnomalies/links/ Share files: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MullerianAnomalies/files/ The Congenital Uterine Anomalies Home Page: http://www.wegrokit.com/uterineanomalies/ es/ The Congenital Uterine Anomalies Home Page: http://www.wegrokit.com/uterineanomalies/
Guest guest
I assume you may be going to a Reproductive Endocronligst (Sp?) or RE as we call them here. This is my suggestion. However I am a bit bias. I am a children's therapist, I work primarly with adolescent girls. The pressures for a teenage girl is insane. Ask the RE if they can recommend a sex therapist for your daughter to go and see. I know what you are thinking....trust me your daughter has thought about it. I say sex therapist, who also does family work, because they will have some idea of what she is going through. I would look for a female therapist also. Your daughter may be worried about marriage, babies, will she even be able to find a man willing to be with her in this situation in addition to dealing with a birth defect. Too much stress, pressure and life to deal with. I have two uterus which is the opposite of your daughter but I know what I went though, I had a hard time talking to my Dad about it to. I hope this helps. Guest guest
Dave, I suggest you talk to her, and offer up resources such as a therapist, this website and anything else anyone can think of. Everyone is different in how they cope. It is clear based on your message that you are a caring and concerned parent. She may be scared, and confused, heck I think all of us were, when we received our diagnosis and we're grown women so I can only imagine what she is thinking/feeling. Giving her the resources she needs and letting her know you are there for her are critical (even if she doesn't want to talk to you about it!). I would also look into Children's Hospitals in your area to see if there are therapists who have experience with MAs. From what I have heard the incidence of MAs is on the rise in children and I gather there is some counseling offered at the major hospitals. She can be a mom some day and I think it is important for her to realize it may not be through " traditional " means but we can all become parents. I have one uterus with a septum so I can't comment on your daughter's particular makeup. I wish you well in your journey and feel free to check back with us if you have other questions or concerns. > > > > ian a single parent (guy) and i was at the doctors with my > daughter > > now 16 and we have been asking the doctor for the past 4 years > about > > her not starting her period , and they said it is not uncommon for > some > > girls to start late so they kept putting it off until her next > yearly > > visit well her last visit was 2 weeks ago and so they finally > decided > > to run some test well to make a long story short they for out she > had > > only 1 kidney and no female organs inside . they talked to us ( > my > > daughetr and i) and set us up with the specailist they told us > she > > has ... mullerian anomalies .. and.. mullerian atresia... my > question > > is can anyone tell me what to expect? and help me understand > this. > > > > dave > > >
