Hi All,

Sorry I haven't been on line for a while. My foot surgery went OK. Of course since it was last Wednesday it is still hurting and a wonderful dark red, purple and blue. He un trapped the nerves by going between toe toes and even though I was numbed I must say it was unpleasant and painful at a certain point but he told me afterwards that everyone feels pain at that point. I am sure I will forget this part eventually and hopefully before I need to have the other foot done.

The whole week was not a good one as our poor mule, Rosie, whom Greig bought me for Christmas was very sick and we ended up loosing her Thursday night. We had ended up taking her to Gainesville, to the University of Florida Veterinary Hospital and even though they had said she didn't have a life threatening illness when we brought her in their diagnosis was wrong and she ended up bleeding internally form everywhere, total organ shutdown and it wasn't fair to keep her alive, she was very stoic and took after me eating until the very end.

Even though we only had her a few weeks we where very attached and loved her as she was very, very sweet and I was hoping to give her a happy life for a lot longer than happened.

You animal lovers will no how devastated we where by this. And my poor Greig went up to see her Tuesday after work and at the time we had no idea she has taken a turn for the worse. She had developed edema over the weekend from her teats to her front legs but she had swelled up a lot more and he wasn't prepared to see this. I guess the vet thought it better to talk in person than on the phone as that morning she had told me she was the same and they wanted to do a gastro tube to her stomach as they couldn't figure out what was wrong with her. I was stuck at home with my foot elevated so Greig was alone. He was pretty torn up at seeing her but at least one of us was there to say good bye.

Felice,

Sorry to hear about the mule and it's death. I can relate to being attached to an animal and having be sick and then to die. I always fear that with my toby and know someday his time will come but it won't be easy.

Forgive me for not knowing you had surgery. I've been kinda rapped up in my own problems. What kind did you have? It sounds painfull no matter what. The little surgery I've had on my big toes still leaves an impression. Heal quickly hon.

Luv Laurie

Felice,

They didn't sedate you for this? I always went to the operating room to get my neuromas out--and I don't remember a thing! I do have a friend though that had one removed and he did it at the office. I was thinking I would not like that!! Did he go in from the top?

Love,

Hi ,

He didn't remove the nerve. He went in between the toes and un trapped it. He likes to try this first as it is so much less invasive. If it doesn't work then he will remove the Neuroma. He feels that especially with RSD it is better to do the least that he can get away with. Felice
