Guest guest
Just a heads up: I too had RhoGam shots for my 3 pregnancies and assumed they were the RhoGam brand containing thimerosal. In fact, I just refused the shot in the hospital based on the fact that I assumed I was getting RhoGam based on the fact that that is how the doctors and nurses refer to it. Turns out, my ob0gyn, who has a son with Asperger Disorder himself, pulled my records and discovered that I had never, in fact, received the RhoGam shot, but rather the BayRho shot instead. So, despite the fact that doctors and nurses still call it RhoGam, some hospitals, like the one in which I delivered my children haven't used RhoGam in years. I would check to see which shot you have received. Guest guest
BayRho contained mercury too...The only thing that did not contain mercury was winrho which came out in 1996. Guest guest
BayRho actually had more thimerosal then rhogam.. The Bayer Corporation makes a Rho (D) Immune Globulin product (BayRho) which in the past contained thimerosal; this product has been manufactured without preservative since 1996, so that no in- date BayRho contains thimerosal. Regarding the previously distributed product, the volume of a single dose of the Bayer product was approximately 0.7 ml. The thimerosal concentration was 0.01%, so the total mercury in a single dose would have been approximately 35 micrograms of ethyl mercury. http://www.fda.gov/cber/blood/mercplasma.htm > > > Last night my son was out for dinner with his girlfriend and her > > > family, The waitress was talking to my sons g/f's mother about > her > > > handicapped child, My son ask her if she was Rh-, she said yes, > My > > > son then ask her if she had taken a Rhogam shot while she was > > > pregnant, Yes again.
