Fwd: FDA has approved a new pain medication

Fox news reported yesterday that the FDA has approved a new pain medication called Prialt.

Prialt which selectively blocks nerve channels that sends out pain signals throughout our body.

The chemical name for the new drug approved by the FDA is Zinconotide, the drug we, and others have been following for years. As a matter of fact at one of our first RSDHope Conferences, Back in 1998 0r 1997I believe, Elan Pharmaceuticals which produces this medication, shared their findings then with us to share in hand-outs to those attending!

We have several articles on this in our Medical Articles page. One near the top and the oters lower to the bottom. Good thing about this one is that it can and has been used in Pumps!

Results for Prialt have been very good so far.

Cathy and Everyone in the group,

Must tell you all that yesterday when Mom came and picked me up, she was telling me a little about this new drug, because when she went to her girlfriends the other night to exchange gifts her niece was there and works in Albany Medical Center. It is a teaching Hospital that has just started using new drugs to treat chronic pain like RSD and having good results already! They also have much healthier and better drugs out for MS now and she () is going to get my Mom as much info as she can on it. I was not going to say anything until I had it in my hand, but saw what Cathy wrote and could not help butting in! I will try and get the info as soon as I can and will make sure that Mom does not forget to get it for all of us! Well you can see it is 6:00am and up again. Sleep was a little better, maybe four to five hours, but still unbelivable pain! It has to be at least a nine right now. Ohhhhh I just cannot stand it and want to

scream!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well best of wishes to you all and LOL Always!
