Guest guest
Hi crew! I've been trying to read through all the emails, but I am way behind! Forgive me, last I read was that Randy had passed, and it made my heart drop. He was the only person who I knew that had NF2 residing in Canada and would answer most promptly to my emails. The news has greatly saddened me. I am now trying to fight through a cold, and I feel that it has reduced my hearing even more. Clogged sinuses? I don't know, just taking Nyquil for that. However, the tinnitus has gotten so loud, that it is very bothersome. I told my ear doctor about that, but of course since there is no cure for it, he told me he can prescribe anti depressants for me. Have any of you taken anti depressants for tinnitus and found it to help?? I also need an opinion on cross graft hearing aid. I think that is what it is called. It's an aid which brings the hearing on one ear to the other ear which is deaf? Do you know of any one who has this? I need to know whether people found it at an advantage for them. Thank you, Grace
Guest guest
Am I missing something? I did not hear that Randy had passed? I wore a cros aid and loved it. Guest guest
Hello Grace, I'm Sherry and I am wearing one of those hearing aids. The deaf ear side has like a microphone that carries the hearing to the hearing side by a wire. I can hear things that happen on my right that I normally wouldn't hear. Of course you can't really tell which direction the sound is coming from but if you are walking along the road and your deaf ear is to the traffic then you will hear a car coming. I like mine. Guest guest
Hi Grace My mom had one of those hearing aids that carried sound from one ear to the other. Some work with a radio frequency and actually transmit the sound. My mom's just had a little wire that went behind her neck. It worked well for her until she lost more hearing.
