Good idea, GInny. Maybe I should start tryiing to do that on the days that I'm feeling better. I sometiems do the same thing with homemade soup. I sure hope that you have a wonderful Christmas too. We'd be in good shape if we could just get rid of this crummy weather and move on to the little break that we're supposed to have. Enjoy ! and I hope that you've been good enough this year to get at least one of the gifts on your Santa list. BarbaraGinny Barrientos wrote:

Barbara...I make a huge pot of sauce every 2 months and make enough to freeze alot of it. I do the same with Lasagna and lot of other meals. I got in the habbit when i worked and had to cook for me and the kids when i got home usually at 7ish. So I would cook almost for the whole week on Sunday..or freeze things so I would have easy meals all week long. It's a good idea and then when you are too tired to really cook a meal..then you can pop something in the microwave or heat up spaghetti and just microwave the sauce. I know the kids like it cuse if I have to go out and they have to get dinner ready for themselves they can just microwave a meal that is homemade. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas...Hugs..GinnyBARBARA TORREY wrote:

Dawn - After reading your post, I'm thinking that I might buy the stuff to make a pan of lasagna. It's a lot of food for just one person, but I could cut it into smaller portions and freeze them. That way I'd always have something up in the freezer that i could warm up. I try to keep a few thing like that in the freezer for the times that I'm up to eating real food but still too pooped to really cook. Maybe I'll make pan of it on Sunday. Have a wonderful holiday ! Hi All,

I would like to give all of you an update on my doctors appointment today! Well first must tell you that I could barely walk this morning and my Mom had to come get me for my doctors appointment! I called him because I was not sure he wanted to see me with all the pain I was in, but he said definitely come in and will do something for the back and leg pain! Also the RSD was out of this world in pain today! I was a 10+++++++++ all day until I saw my neurologist!

I am not sure what type of injection he gave me today, but it was immediate relief!!! I could barely walk into the office with a cane, but I was actually walking pretty good coming out of the office! It was amazing how much better I felt after the nerve block! I said to the doctor when I was laying on the table that the pain was really bad going down the left leg and he started to laugh and said I see it I know and then boom he gave me the injection that almost sent me flying off the table today!!! It hurt for a minute, but boy was it well worth it!!!! I have to go back in a couple of weeks because he is worried that it is going to come back again! I must say that I am a definite believer in these blocks! They may not be for everyone, but they really help my back pain!

Well I did go and buy all the stuff for Lasagne today, because my Mom wanted to stop at the supermarket on the way home. So I hope that I feel good enough to make it tomorrow. It costs enough to make, but I am making an extra tray that I can put in the freezer!!!! Ginny when we all get together maybe I can make it for all of us! That would be awsome, because you can make the cookies! Ummm I can see the calories already!!!!! Why don't you all come over for dinner tomorrow night! We can have a feast and watch a movie!!! Tell me what ya think!

Well the rest of my Christmas presents came tonight and I am going to try and finish wrapping them so I can cook tomorrow! Take Care Everyone and Hope that you are all having a joyous and pain free night. LOL and Best Wishes Always!

Dawn

..have you ever thought of writing to your state rep about this...I know I lobbied for autism and health care and also different laws for spec ed...I do write to them often and do get replies and they do vote for what i want mostly. I also have gone to DC and lobbied there when i had the time a few summers ago. Also writing editorials in the paper help bring awareness to the problem...Hope things change and everyone on SSI can get the healthcare they need so desperately...Hugs..GinnyKM86@... wrote:

It is sad Ginny.

My daughter received mcd while on ssi in FL and NC, but in VA she didn't qualify.

The reason my son is on it is because he is autistic and needed speech therapy, OT and PT and ABA therapy and most ins. do not cover extra therapy once a child is in school..because it is the school's responsibility to provide the necessary therapies...if

my son got all the therpy he neede in school he would never be in class he would always be in OT, PT or speech. I find it outrageous that some states don't offer medical with SSI. Thanks for informing of that...Because I lived in Wisc for 2 yrs and SSI was run just like it is in MA and so is NH and VT because I have good friends with children who are on SSI there. Nevre even crossed my mind that all states wouldn't be consistent with the waythis program is run....Hugs..Ginny
